  7. dog the 1st time i saw pharoah i was sitting closer to billy higgins than i was sitting to billy hart last week and i was settling hella close to billy hart last week. they did a 20 min. "Ole", and it was freakin' the nutzest thing ive ever experienced

  9. what is this my guy? Chesky? never heard of it- ooo i must get one. i have very little digital joe dawg seriously theres something about joe henderons sound, that translates really well to digital medium- so awesome he was still working so much through that time-
  10. Planning on it now- theyve already been here i should of already gone!
  11. His previous jazz alley performance was also cancelled, on Sept. 12, 2001.

  14. took me forever to get this on cd and now i know why-- its by a cd manufacturing plant which i have no other cds from: Technidisc, who mainly did cd-roms but did start off doing cd orders. fantastic fusion album, incl a fusion version of "seven steps to heaven"- its his song dawg- he can do it if he wants! lol god this album is so good
  15. oh comeon my guy- you got this!!
  16. same here my guy- although i kinda want that one from 1980 that was the very last of the era of vangelder stamped blue notes
  17. pharoah fell somehow yesterday and broke his hip, they didnt say much, leaving me to think its bad, but i do not know they did say what i told you though. he was replaced (this is the joey defracneco band im talking about)- he was replaced by GARY BARTZ, who they called at 7am this morning (he must live in LA- i thought he was still in ny for some reason).....so thurs-sat: gary and for the sunday show: the special guest is not gary, but Azar Lawrence. dare i say gary worked better in this band that i presume pharoah would of....i mean i love phaorah but the band was more hard bop ( i mean phaorahs on the new album, i really should hear it im sure its great) but yea hope pharoah is going to be ok, that is a real bad one, what i guess happened- oh god- and BILLY HART was the MVP of the show by far. holy shit you guys-- i havent seen him in 15+ and oh my god- part of this was i was sitting right next to him so i could hear him unmixed and loud and clear- wowowowowwwwwwwwwwwwww
  18. ok ok its a cd i got but its also avail on lp although i do think it might of been recorded digitallly (rvg), im goin to tommy flanagan town!

  20. ok ok i got the bellaphon cd made by interpress w. germany as i collect these types of cds but its a record too so now i wasnt crazy about chet baker sings the 1st time around, but i sampled this from 30 years later, and i liked it, he sounds more like michael franks now. i bought it!
  21. what the hell, this is rad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i gotta get that lp (live on steve allen show version here)
  22. this joey d-pharoah group next week should really be somethin', you know what im not looking fwd to though, you go in by yourself as ive done countless times and they immediately try n sell you oni a "seat at the bar" which is horrible when I prefer a table. in 20 years this actually hasnt been a problem and ive gotten great tables but you know society is changing now and i know as a fact i get worse treatment in the fancy ass jazz club as a party of one who is obviously (still) younger than their avg older/middle aged (and snoody amazon) clientele. I am their best custiomer ive been patronizing for 20 years. I wish i had something to bring Pharoah, I could bring a box of Danish bakery deserts down for him, but, i mean, id want them to be like just for him for later, you know. oh i just saw its also billy hart on drums- sick!!!!!! oh god also guss whos on drums for benny golson following pharoah--- Roy McCurdy, wow, never seen him, or maybe once a very very long time ago, he MIGHT of been the drummer at the big john patton show, along w/ calvin keys on gtr, does that sound right?
