  2. wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait they are on TOUR jlhoots? oh man i had no idea----------------- I JUST SAW THEM. is it it in new mexico you are seeing them? thats a long way down for a 2nd date- seattle to new mexico
  3. I hope it gets done it sounds like im lol'ing but all seriously I do wish i could visit, beatiful country, beautiful people. So you need someone, to go through the script, making sure all different points mentioned get indexed for reference, by page number, in the back of the book. And moving previous index points because the edition changed and pages changed slightly? I am guessing this is on some sort of deadline- could a local university be of help in tracking down someone. and yes i really would love to know now if youve been to that restaurant, ive been thinking about it all day.
  4. $18/hr with full couch privleges. Buy can we eat this everyday: the computer says i can find this at "Apfelweinstube Im Himmelreich". Do you know of this place, are you far from it- I WANT TO GO TO APFELWEINSTUBE IM HIMMELREICH EVERY DAY
  5. scored this sick rca victor cardboard box today
  6. feelin the spirit liberty labeled mono, which come in the old BN jacket, $15 today i am very happy w/ it i definetly did ok- as i was saying w/ the other lp, guitar for some reason the focus is so much clearer and direct on the mono listening to grant green's solo on side two song one 'go down moses'- all i can think is.................................. this is better than every funky thing wes or george benson ever di......... no i didnt say that, i didnt say that dawg.............................
  7. he does, wow-- facinating
  8. I've seen Tootie once at the baked potato sitting literally right in front of him- the only Heath brother Ive seen
  9. which do you prefer? the horn lines might be a little more defined in stereo but the guitar sounds better in mono
  10. He doesn't tour does he, Ive never seen him
  11. DID I DO OK: $15 it plays fine. heres the deal---- so at this point rvg was doing 50/50 reduction for the monos i take it? well comparing to stereo the mono is not exactly like the stereo with the mono button pressed, as i recall hearing it put-- i dont know how my stereo works but basically you can CRANK the mono louder (one speaker) than the stereo lp, which feeds back if you try n max te vol out Ive got......... its interesting- the stereo/mono set for ORGAN lps the most---- SERMON now OH BABY! Jack McDuff live prestige, not the one w/ rock candy so im sticking w/ both for this title. on the stereo he centered the organ i think but its the drums which gets most of the stereo spread i think, cover had horrible masking tape all sides for no reason (cover not damaged underneath at all)- all came off ok. I think the stereo is mostly in the drums, am i wrong- who knows this date well. oh oh and guitar-- i think grant green might come through much better on the mono- like hes playin thru an amp- he gets a real good solo on track2, am going to compare those (*in "concert mcduff" was the mcduff lp i forgot) that settles it- i really do see where the mono lovers come from, even if the session was cut in stereo- MONO IS JUST SO MUCH MORE FOCUSED, ITS SUCH A MORE FOCUSED LISTEN. i got rid of my stereo search for the new land but i think im gonna still keep the stereo for this- _____________ THATS IT-- my mind is made up- i mean the mono is so much more focused for the Grant solo "oh baby " mono version, its like hes right there--- did they do 50/50 reduction then compress it more than they would compress the stereo, or something different after the 50/50 reduction track 3 sounded ok in stereo though-- will compare which version i like better later
  12. you were there? oh dawg!!!!! could you see the piano keys, could you see him play. Is it like a classic NYC 2 drink min + $15 food min + cover trifecta admission? Do you have to take an elevator up there, what floor were you on- the cam overlooks the new york traffic, all the people down below not seeing the concert. I have to say, their live concert feature is pretty good current jazz source and someone should be making a discography of all their broadcasts
  13. it was good, but they didnt show the second set
  14. dick hyman + ken peplowski on the lincoln center feed rt now*****
  15. RIP saw this the other day...an LP from 1992
  16. hes coming here too but performing his chick corea piano concerto and rhapsody in blue. ive been thinking it would be interesting to hear as ive finally come round to rhapsody in blue (it was billy joel using it as the opening music on the 1986 "the bridge" tour that did it for me) but i dont 75 dollars-want-to-hear-it, i expect return to forever for that kinda dough, lol
  17. Jamaaladeen Tacuma trio featuring Gary Bartz. I've never heard of this guy, but I looked him up and now i do. I'm all set for it, Gary Bartz with electric bass and drums. I mean hell when was the last time you've seen Bartz w/ an electric bassist? The miles era? (michael henderson)
  18. i have him on these two
