  1. I totally get it my guy, he has the turrentine tone with the bird licks, but is it stan? with all the players out there could another also have that distinctive tone? **** let me look at it from this angle, if it was a player sounding kinda like hank but wasnt hank, i would be very surprised. maybe its him, i do hear it-
  2. on his bio it says: consulting producer- archival/historical recordings at blue note records- i dont know how it all works, all i know is theres been tape speed problems on bn releases ever since don moved in with bobby. he might not even be aware. -- oh wow i see in the other bn thread this topic was discussed- i haven't been following that thread, i discovered it on my own- sry
  3. when don was is hanging w/ bobby 100% of the time, i think they just gave the cuscana role to that guy: Zev Feldman. Anyone want to try and talk to him? I can't, I dont want to mess it up, but someone could- you know my talking points; unreleased takes and sessions.....
  4. I dunno you guys isnt it a case by case senario, I know we all feel miffed from the KB case but maybe Jimmy's is legit--
  5. Mike: I'm really glad you like it. I'd be surprised if the tba cd is actually different from the nautilus cd,
  6. i gotcha, the classical should have even more dynamic range from that way- but the feldman is the most authentic recording ive ever heard, and it does have the range, but maybe not in the way a classical cd does are you not into victor feldman generation band yet my guy? my favorite 80s fusion--
  7. u did it!!!!!!!!!!! congrats. (you got the nautilus just like the pic right?) i've a/b'd it with the direct to disc- it was more like direct to the trash can. No comparison whatsoever. Whatsoever.
  8. you talkin to me my guy? if so get ready for the best example of recorded audio I think exists, yr gonna wanna get track 7 up to full blast, the soundstage will be astonishing
  9. Who is "in charge" now that the chief exec quit. Do you think the new "in charge" will be able to right this. The first step should be an apology and a plan to rebuild. Instead of having a patron gala, they could maybe sponsor an all inclusive concert in the park or something. Long term employees who have dedicated the most should have a major say.
  10. The definition of dynamic range:
