  1. and of course i didnt go to hawthorne to see the beach boys house plaque where the street used to be that would of been a good stop. i mean there were like 500 places to visit and i seriously needed to get on the road, i had a huge drive ahead of me. It probably was my last so cal trip
  2. not central ave related but the other day i finally saw the crown records bldg on normandie. there indeed was an open door and urban exploring would of happened if i would of had a close parking space.......in its heyday they ran 80 manual record presses and recorded all in house. I should of gone to see the earth angel garage too but i would of been compelled to walk in the driveway for a closer look which would of been dangerous as it is someones home and you know how people are about random people in peoples driveways, as they should be...... i also didn't do the richie valens pacioma neighbourhood tour or dexter gordons old apt bldg or central ave stuff i mean i had a 20 hr drive ahead of me and if i went to central i never would of left there would of been so much to check out actually you know i would of really wanted to ring the bell, and ask if for a $50 admission charge they'd be so kind to let me see the garage, but when you see it on google maps...............i dont think, from the automobile selection in the driveway, that the current resident, would be sympathetic to my cause..........
  3. youre doing what, were, when? ok beacuse of covid i can get a round trip for $250 . As long as I can secure a non-Boeing flight, I'd do it. Can I be your sheet music caddy for the day. I promise I won't say anything to Maureen. No I'm just joking dawg, but look I'm glad its being used and I just hope its being treated well. that is very interesting- kind of like knowing when rudys last simultaneous mono and stereo recordings were etc I don't think I've heard the speak no evil outtakes..... so the released just coolin is in stereo?
  4. never ever seen this lp or even a jpg of the cover
  5. Arnett Cobb should be a top consideration, also Red Garland!
  6. I have it too! are you saying definite upgrade from LT series? My BN collection is offically not up to date! You know usu I pass on the new releases, Nora Jones.......this looks, well you know how it looks.....(awseome) @sidewinder So are you saying I need it in addition to the classic. I am very interested. you say a bit more detail is apparent- how do you mean, in regards to the B3 Organ.-\\\\\\\\\\\\ Guitar? Yea- B3 on rvg record, i mean these records are to the max.
  7. the one i have (on Motown)
  8. the only place to get 'he's so shy' on CD:
  9. the difference is extremely noticeable wes's guitar is centered and focused, and so is the rest. its a balanced direct sound. the stereo is more open and airy and the music "floats"- i have two ears but only one brain, but mono greatly improves this albums sound, specifcally on Wes's guitar, I can actually hear it now.
  10. QUESTION: is as good as the les strand baldwin records? Is he as crazy on Hammond as he is on Baldwin. The Yamaha demonstration record is pretty out there, but so was that instrument. This one definitely is harder to find than the others, but was wondering if anyone has heard it, thanks
  11. She must of had a hard life. She deserved so much more solo success, I don't know why the 80s weren't more successful for her.
  12. the pointer sisters 1967
  13. I WAS LISTENING TO THEM ALL NIGHT, OH GOD, RIP
  14. digitally recorded but not on early cd? what kind of cruel joke is that!
  15. WANTED- will pay up to $40 depending on condition- thx
  16. oh wow thanks my guy i didnt cross check it w/ youtube that looks great- will watch- just bought this- its mostly real good, but too "airy"- hopefully the mono will sound focused and direct and i supposedly have a 10 dollar copy of prestige yellow fireworks label 1st cover ed. Gene Ammons Funky on the way
  17. this, the pointer sisters 2nd to last album, and last lp, is grade AAA fantastic. Every track is a keeper, i feel no need to skip one second. SQ= 9, maybe 9.5/10, it sounds good, tracks are great. on MOTOWN (1990) ok maybe last track could be slightly better but its still great production, up until the last track i was 100% into it
  18. hampton hawes is excellent on rhodes- blues for walls and northern windows. this is not "throwaway fusion"- these are very thoughtful albums and hawes has a good rhodes sound
