  1. yyy- Shootout at the fantasy factory- my favorite
  2. VIdEo DOWn—— my speed was slightly less than 80— had to get real-time help and fix it which i successfully did - it was hella tricky untiL you figure it out then makes perfect sense - Edison did make these things kind of idiot proof- once I figured out what I was looking for and what to do I accomplished it - stay tuned for a redo
  3. but its also on this- so i just saw a video on youtube thats an edison disc copied from the UCSB archives...i emailed the director ive been talking to but i dont think something like this is availble to the private collector. but it clearly was a copy with different font label and "on loan from UCSB archives" in the deawax- but clearly an edison copy-would love to get the unreleased Henderson sides on a disc cut for me- if even still possible- heres the video
  4. My question now is- at what point was, and how did they manage to get the test pressing copied from the Edison archives where it is held, according to UCSB's DAHR archive. It must of been a LONG time ago cause i also have it on my old Fletcher Henderson- 1923 lp.
  5. whoa- thats huge. so Patton told you that in an interview or told somone- of course you gotta believe BJP- whats the story though i know of the history w/ price band just didnt know that specific thing
  6. can't believe i gotta find 'em in triplicate-
  7. stoked for my mint collectors copy of Linger Awhile to arrive!!! (robert w. fertig collection (?) ) (shake your feet is a disaster copy with a gouge out of the start ill have to skip over and no label but for 8 bucks itll hold me over till another one turns up)
  8. :""""following edisons practice, all 3 takes were issued, the differneces are minor""""" oh man so thats why the labels are removed- yeah the discs have take nos behind the labels. OH MAN, edison disc new information fact 55,784.3 this week
  9. so henderson band didnt record into the tube????? well "shake your feet" will not be the finest fidelity of the era my copy arriving has a""""" "deep dig" at the start which clicks 12x on edison disc player and skips on modern equipment"""""" and also has no labels with info written in on hand on it but otherwise plays ok.........but for $8 itll tide me over till another turns up which right there there are none. also need to track down "dixie moon" edison test press, which will prove a challenge to say the least. Linger awhiles from some famous collectors left behind collection and is mint, and will be by far my top favorite and most prized disc i plan on skipping over the "deep dig" part- not destroying my brand new diamond. having my reprodcer rebilt by the world expert and it will then not only be the earliest shubert model in the world but the best sounding as well. thanks for quoting that for me theres some henderson edison outtakes on youtube as well- the provence of these i also do not know ALSO IN CASE YOU GUYS DONT KNOW the RED STAR isnt like red stars on white label promos of later era- the red star denotes a DOG- a record that was expected not to sell and was printed in few quanities, and was not able to be retunred for cash or store credit by the dealer. oh wow http://www.harlem-fuss.com/pdf/bands/harlem_fuss_bands_henderson_fletcher_early.pdf
  10. who can key me in or where do i look in jazz historical stuff for info on how Fletcher henderson hooked up with Edison- i just bought his 2 discs this and "stomp your feet"- , theres also a test pressing "dixie moon"
  11. Good collection my guy!
  12. me too, just ordered the set too!
  13. the two hodges enigmas you guys just reminded me of + the arriving two MAJOR gaps in my bn collection (free for all // bu's delight) are going to arrive and then I with very few exceptions, maybe white label promo here and there, am DONE w/ LP collecting FOREVER. I only buy edison discs now!!!!!
  14. got both enigmas- love ballroom airchecks
  15. Prestige Jams! 25 cents! got a huge kick out of that. RIP
  16. BJP was no fool, he was probably the greatest mind i ever shook hands with. If BJP said it then case closed. revewing thread and lots of great info- good job everybody, but whats the origin of the cockup with Pattons name getting attached attributed to?
  17. NEVER FIGURED OUT who the musical director (alto player) of the Lionel Hampton big band show c. '00-01 was. He was really fantastic though.
  18. john patton is SO distinctive i dont see how we can not ID it correctly by ear. Maybe my ear isnt the best for the job but I do know from my love of organ jazz BJP is one of the MOST distintive sounds..........so unless he COMPLETELY ALTERED IS USUAL ORGAN SETTING FOR THIS DATE, im leaning toward someone else- Larry Young I dont know either why did his name even get thrown in to this, ill look back , but some people suggested a 3rd party, im not opposed.........
  19. Beach Boys fans such posted the AFM sheets for Carl & the Passions sessions, if they can do it, so can we!
