  1. And people are still wondering why those big labels are going out of business...
  2. So did anyone contact Verve/Universal about the Flamingo mix-up? Obviously they included the wrong (live) take by accident. I hope there will be corrected replacement discs.
  3. Already pre-ordered my copy (just EUR 32.99 from www.amazon.de). Really looking forward to this set! And the track listing means that I can finally get rid of my inexplicably Spanish copy of Stan Getz Plays...

Yeah, I saw him at that festival, very glad I did - he sounded excellent (as did the entire band, really). One of my personal highlights of the weekend, he's been a big favorite of mine ever since I got into jazz more seriously.
  5. Hey everyone, tomorrow is the big day! Rehearsals have been going great, so we're really looking forward to the Generation Prog live gig! Here's a bunch of photos from the last two days: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=288750&id=97761589802
  6. Hey everyone, here's our new press release. These are exciting times for us, moving from a studio project to a live band that's bigger than Relocator has ever been. Check out the video of our live keyboardist Sergej, I'm sure you'll be impressed! I could watch his take on the epic Aavishkar solo all day! Anyway, here goes: Relocator announce live replacement for Derek Sherinian New sextet lineup to headline “Generation Prog” mini-festival January 15, 2010 One year after the release of their internationally celebrated debut album, Relocator are finally ready to hit the stage. For their headlining performance at the first “Generation Prog live” event in Erlangen, the fusion proggers have assembled an international sextet lineup. The core group featured on the studio album stays intact: Project founders Stefan Artwin (guitar) and Michael Schetter (born Pruchnicki, bass) with Bartek Strycharski (electric violin) plus Frank Tinge from the Netherlands (drums). Joining them is another Dutchman, multi-instrumentalist Meinte Boersma (guitar, percussion), enabling the live band to do the dense arrangements of the album justice. Newcomer Sergej Schamber takes the place of CD guest star Derek Sherinian The addition of Sergej Schamber (Ocean Spout) to the live band finally answers an often posed question: “How are they going to play this stuff live without Derek Sherinian?”. The former Dream Theater keyboardist had recorded all the keyboard tracks for the Relocator debut as a special guest star, enabling the project members to wrap up the recording of the album without adding a full-time keyboardist. “Sherinian's ivory work across Relocator provides a mass of musical might”, wrote Ytsejam.com reviewer Tommy Hash. After the release of the album, Relocator finally found the perfect keyboardist to join them for live gigs. Sergej Schamber's ability to tackle the complex Relocator material and Derek Sherinian's stylish, virtuosic lead work is demonstrated in this video: "Generation Prog live”: An evening of prog on an international level in Erlangen The first concert in the “Generation Prog” series will feature Relocator alongside ProgRock Records artist Dante and newcomers Effloresce, who will be previewing material from the upcoming full-length followup to their 2009 debut EP Shades of Fate. This mini-festival will take place at the Omega in Erlangen, Germany, on February 11, 2011. To learn more about the performing artists or to pre-order tickets please visit the official Generation Prog website (German only): http://www.generation-prog.com ---- We have now also added photos and some biographical info on Sergej and Meinte to our website: http://relocator-project.com/index2.php?m=20
  7. Yeah, saw that just the other day. Very good news, I've been waiting for these individual CDs after giving up on the Mosaic eBay market!
  8. Amazon.com lists it with a February 2011 release date. Really looking forward to this! I suggested something like this to Mosaic Records almost three years ago. Michael Cuscuna told me that Verve had shot down their idea to do a big Getz box including this material earlier, but he thanked me for bringing up the idea again because he thought they would probably be more receptive to the idea of such a 3CD set today. Guess they were!
  9. Hey everyone, a brand-new interview with our guitarist Stefan Artwin was just posted over at ProgArchives, check it out! http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=73940 We should also have some news regarding a pretty cool live gig soon!
  10. Seconded! All of those are really enjoyable, some of Getz's best stuff for sure.
  11. That reminds me of something. I got this album from an amazon.com marketplace seller. Here's what I wrote to him: --- Hi there, the CD arrived today. While the disc is fine, half of the last page of the booklet has been ripped off. I can send you a photo if you like. That certainly wasn't mentioned in the item description! --- No reply. Two weeks later I sent him a reminder with the same message again. I finally got a reply with the subject header "3 REPLY HOPE YOU GET ONE" --- YES IT WAS LISTED SO YOU CAN CONTACT AMAZON.COM BUT I WOULD SUGGEST READING BETTER WHAT YOU BUY. SORRY THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO FOR THIS PROBLEM AS IT WAS STATED LEE --- Above this he quoted what was supposedly the original order information: Seller: chanlee3002 zShop This seller is rated: (6243) Condition: Used - Very Good Seller's comments: back page has damage in booklet great music , shipped with dc, has all the original , art work and case --- And yes, obviously the original description didn't include the "back page has damage in booklet" part, as an attempt to leave feedback for this order immediately revealed. Dude got his ass handed to him by amazon. Some people...
  12. Thanks! I was wondering how you liked the CD after a few spins, guess this answers that! For all those who haven't heard any of our material, we're streaming the full album on our MySpace and Facebook pages: http://www.myspace.com/relocatorproject http://www.facebook.com/relocatorproject
  13. Very cool! Thanks for this, Aggie! I need to track down this magazine... Btw, I hear they'll be doing a full page on us in the upcoming issue, very cool to get so much coverage by one of the biggest prog magazines in the world!

Just as the recent remaster of Why Not is finally on its way to me.
  15. So they got it right this time, huh? Wonder what went wrong with the last reissue, usually that series didn't disappoint that way.
  16. Really looking forward to the CD edition!
  17. All Blues, about time! Might be getting Morning Star, too. Too bad the rest of the stuff has been out before.
  18. Yeah, I find this incredibly annoying as well. It's one thing to reissue some obscure stuff that the majors didn't bother to put out on CD (maybe except in Japan), but right now these pirated versions of really popular stuff like Kind of Blue and Time Out are really clogging up the stores and it's getting increasingly difficult to tell a quality official release from the pirated copy.
  19. Hey everyone, Bill Knispel of Bill's Prog Blog (a truly excellent site!) has just published his extensive interview with me, check it out! http://billsprogblog.blogspot.com/2010/09/more-than-10-questions-withmichael.html
  20. I play bass guitar (some fretless bass, too). Glad to hear you're digging the music!
  21. I'm not quite sure yet how to incorporate it into my signature (size limits and all), but we finally have an easy-to-remember URL for our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/relocatorproject
  22. OK, I'm in! Brilliant, thanks!
  23. Thanks for listening!
