Just got some info from Enja Records, the quartet "Impact" is scheduled to be reissued this September woohoo!
I'm really looking forward to Paper Man on CD (and also the two big band dates, both of which I haven't heard yet). Bring it on!
Quite possible that it's a mistake on behalf of Amazon.
I've boycotted pretty much every Blue Note CD with copy protection so far
and I'm extremely glad that I'll be able to get those CDs for the usual low
European prices in the future instead of having to import every single one.
It seems these Conns are coming out a few weeks later here in Germany. Can anyone confirm that the UK version is definitely without the recent EMI copy protection?
Let's hope they've really stopped. I'm pretty sick of having to leave albums that I'm interested
in in the local stores because I have to order them from an American online store.
You should definitely grab the Mosaic Select set that has three CDs of
the same group (minus the Johnny Griffin guest appearance) at
Keystone Korner in 1977 (I think). Excellent stuff.
I really hope they get more of those, I didn't really know who Art Pepper
was when they had the boxset available and now - after sampling some
of his work - I've been kicking myself for not buying the set back then.
Let's hope they also get the Art Pepper Village Vanguard set and
the Joe Henderson "Milestone Years" box.
