  1. I agree. Haven’t watched a second of it; just an exhibition.
  2. I had wanted to read it since it first came out because several years ago I had seen a couple of his films which were very good, such as Westfront 1918.
  3. The NYT included this in one of their top 10 books of 2025. I thought it was ok, somewhat interesting but nowhere near that good.

    Bruce Johnston

Dylan is still performing and he’s almost 85.
  5. Missed it but it’s on later today on one of the PBS stations in my area.
  6. RIP. His work with Xanadu is legendary snd I have a lot of his work in my collection. Beautiful homage by Zev.
  7. TPs should be for BNs, Pacific and associated jazz labels, which focus on instrumental music. In my view Sinatra doesn’t fit the bill. UMG could start a separate branch for Sinatra and other popular singers of the day.
  8. Congratulations Georghe. I hope this year is better for you and I’m looking forward to listening to it.
  9. There seems to be a lot of other junk in that group.
  10. This was recently reissued as a OJC. Wonder if they got the rights from Craft.
  11. My feeling is the TPs should stick to instrumental jazz.
  12. Sinatra is getting a second Tone Poet treatment. https://store.bluenote.com/products/frank-sinatra-songs-for-swingin-lovers-lp-tone-poet-vinyl-series?utm_campaign=887562_2.20.26_Blue Note Records_February 2026 Newsletter_Full List_231870_US&utm_medium=email&utm_source=dotmailer&dm_i=4YWU,J0UI,A7JYU5,38VL5,1,0,0,0
  13. I caught his program about Bird’s appearance at Cafe Society in June July 1950. Typically strong analysis. Came across this article. https://www.college.columbia.edu/cct/issue/fall-2020/article/radio-days
  14. A German series about the fall of East Germany and the divisions within one German family. Aired through the PBS Walter Presents. Pretty good.
  15. Playbills for Cafe Society.

    Buster Williams

    I’m definitely up for that.

That documentary was fantastic. Highly recommended. Was listening to Pinnacle on the radio today.
  19. I haven’t been able to locate Norman Granz’s The Jazz Scene for awhile now. Although I’ve sold off some CDs, I know this is one that is just lost somewhere.
  20. I know this is a real minor point but I like that this cd and the Blue Train masters were issued in a jewel case rather than a digipak as the latter always seems to get damaged.
