CDs that you know you have but cannot locate right now ....
Brad replied to mikeweil's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I haven’t been able to locate Norman Granz’s The Jazz Scene for awhile now. Although I’ve sold off some CDs, I know this is one that is just lost somewhere. -
Sonny Rollins: A Night at the Village Vanguard (Tone Poet -- 3 LPs)
Brad replied to Mark Stryker's topic in Re-issues
I know this is a real minor point but I like that this cd and the Blue Train masters were issued in a jewel case rather than a digipak as the latter always seems to get damaged. -

Interesting that the UK list is different than the US one. Perhaps it’s always been that way but I never noticed it.

About the Spanish Civil War but a bit of a mess.

Here in NW New Jersey near Morristown, about two or three inches so far I’d say.

Duplicate Shipment From Overseas Label - How Would You Handle It?
Brad replied to Ken Dryden's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I’m curious as to whether you were charged twice. If you weren’t, I wouldn’t bother and even if you were, just sell the second copy, as has been suggested here. I’ve never purchased from them; I find them to be expensive and all you’re buying is another concert. -
You probably could sell it, even with a damaged box (although it hasn’t sold that high on eBay lately).

33rd Annual Jazz Record Bash-South Plainfield, NJ
Brad replied to Dmitry's topic in The Vinyl Frontier
There’s a record show every month in Wayne. Not jazz specific though. -
The Jazz Bash, which is held every June, has decided that there won’t be one this year and thereafter. I received the following email: ”Dear Friends, I regret to report that Barry Miller and I have decided not to run the Jazz Record Bash this June. It’s become more challenging to attract enough dealers and attendees to make the event financially worth holding. It’s been a great run for nearly half a century, with Ken Crawford, Art Zimmerman Henry Schmidt others and at the helm. Barry and I have been proud to continue the tradition for the past three years. Barry & I would be delighted if one or more of you would like to take the reins and continue The Bash for this year and possibly into the future. We’d be happy to provide you with assistance and advice on how to handle the hotel arrangements and other preparations. Please let me know if you’re interested or need more information. Take care, and many thanks for the memories. Best regards, Dave Weiner” That’s a shame I always enjoyed going there and picking up something and talking to the dealers, including Scott from Mosaic

Having finished Moby-Dick, I read this brief but very useful book.

How many posters from 2003 are still here on the board?
Brad replied to ghost of miles's topic in Forums Discussion
Same here. That’s a name from the past. Haven’t heard his name in years. I see that I joined on March 7, 2003. -
I took a break from Moby Dick to finish this wonderful book by Laurie Lee about his going to Spain right before the Spanish Civil War. During his two years away from home in Gloucestershire he travels by foot from the top of Spain all the way to the South and leaves just as the Civil War heats up. He survives on money he can earn from playing his violin and the kindness of the people he meets. In the book’s epilogue he decides he has made a mistake leaving and hikes over the Pyrenees to get back into Civil War Spain
