  1. Merry Christmas to all and hope it’s a wonderful day for all.
  2. I ordered from them years ago right before they launched the Classics line and shipping was quick. However, based on what I’ve heard I haven’t done it since and it seems Amazon is just as inexpensive anyway, and definitely quicker. There’s no excuse for not shipping product out quickly.
  3. Storyville also issued it. Recently, it’s been re-issued by Bird’s Nest which I think is a PD label.
  4. Mark Styker mentioned this last week or the week before in one of his Twitter posts so I picked up a copy.
  5. I’m guessing that the owners never thought a player would defer a significant portion of the contract the way Ohtani did. I’m sure that this will come up for discussion in the next labor negotiations.
  6. In my earlier years I had bought a few things from these labels but I’ve gone out of the way to rid my collection of them. On the copyright question I believe 70 years is now the EU standard.
  7. It’s one of those reissue companies based in Andorra (I believe), which makes it immediately suspect for me.
  8. Solar Records release is $30 (not a huge fan of these kinds of releases). RSD is $22. Remastered by Bernie Grundman. Solar, just copied from original record.
  9. So that’s what bothers you? Seems like an odd thing to get bothered about. I’ve never been a fan of the cover but bother me? No.
  10. Finished the Moonstone and am now onto this.
  11. No Reel to Real this RSD although I suppose he figured he did enough this year.
  12. I haven’t kept up with this thread for awhile but now orders are made through Bandcamp.
  13. I haven’t listened to this in years so will need to pull it out but did he wipe away Sonny Stitt in Sonny Side Up.
  14. This past weekend,
  15. None of those apply to me. When I buy a CD or a record, my intent is not to listen to it immediately, as I have others I’m listening to.
  16. It’s okay, not my favorite. I prefer the solo piano box.
  17. Marc Myers take: Cal Tjader: Live at the Penthouse, 1963-1967
  18. It’s Wilponesque.
  19. $45 is a terrific price. I also find that for reading liner notes, the LP is better.
