Smoke Jazz just released a Hank Jones record, Steve Davis Meets Hank Jones. It’s a little pricey at $30 for six cuts but you can buy a digital version from Bandcamp that’s a lot cheaper.

Yesterday, Marc Myers in JazzWax posted an interview he did with director Carol Chamberland who made a film or a video about the legendary Bop City in San Francisco. The film has been seldom seen but JazzWax provided a link to see it.

Purdy simply had a terrible day. He was probably due. However, the 49ers record against the AFC North isn’t pretty, 1-3, although they should have won the Browns game.
I ordered from them years ago right before they launched the Classics line and shipping was quick. However, based on what I’ve heard I haven’t done it since and it seems Amazon is just as inexpensive anyway, and definitely quicker. There’s no excuse for not shipping product out quickly.
I’m guessing that the owners never thought a player would defer a significant portion of the contract the way Ohtani did. I’m sure that this will come up for discussion in the next labor negotiations.
In my earlier years I had bought a few things from these labels but I’ve gone out of the way to rid my collection of them.
On the copyright question I believe 70 years is now the EU standard.
