Note: After the Second World War, state-of-the-art studios were set up in a former aerodynamics test hall at the Göttingen military airfield. Around 100 films were shot there between 1949 and 1961. This also offered Göttingen musicians like Gunter a good opportunity to be hired as extras.

December 29 Joe Lovano - 1952 Joe Lovano played at the Göttingen Jazz Festival on November 4, 2005, with the Harald Haerter Octet. He spontaneously replaced the ailing Michael Brecker for this gig only. I picked him up from the train station and bought the latest issue of Jazzpodium magazine with Sonny Rollins on the cover. I spent the whole day with him. The next day he flew back to the USA – unforgettable moments!
