BTW: Mountain is a poor man's Cream. They owe it all to them.

I went to see them in their heyday, someone else paid for the ticket. I survived by digging the timbre of the synths. Analog heaven! But the band sucked.

Where about do you live? Here in South Carolina there are millions this year. When they all start singing at one time it is one long sound throughout the day. New Jersey. There's reports of them an hour south of here.

And I haven't even heard or seen one yet.

I don't know if I can wait that long. Fortunately I just received a nice shippment yesterday from CD Universe that I'm checking out this weekend. That should keep me happy for a week or so.

Eric Dolphy, indeed. Hearing him on Coltrane's Village Vanguard recordings was my introduction to the instrument (as well as Dolphy himself). I love the sound he gets out of that thing... Nothing else quite like it. Have you heard his solo rendition of "God Bless The Child"? Stunning... Yes. And yes to Dolphy on the VV box (Naima!).
