Ah, yes. My buds at DMG. Picked up a few Cecils there late this afternoon. I used to manage their web pages until last August. Bruce lives about a ten min. walk from my apt. Good folks. I enjoyed the disk, but it's due for a new spin.

Hell, I'd trade my willow trees and ducks in the pond in a nanosecond for an apt. in NYC. That's what Central Park is for... NYC! That's what parks in NJ and upstate NY are for. It would be nice to have a place in NYC or Brooklyn, but I want another place in the sticks. I know quite a few folks who have both. Maybe later....I just have my apt. in NJ for now!

Thanks for the notice, I'd like to go. I worked in a plastic factory in my late teens. I got a few real nasty burns and cuts came real close to loosing a finger at one point. Real dangerous work!

Is Jazz just swing? Jazz is also improvisation. But all improvisation is not Jazz (Indian Classical music, the Euro Funny Rat crowd...not that there's anything wrong about it. ) I think Jazz has melodies, tunes and improvisation. The swing just makes it groove. Is phrasing and swing the same thing?

What's all this about funk? There was more to post early '70's fusion then funk. Bill Bruford Group and later the 1st Earthworks (some funk, but too advanced in the meter dept. to be "just" funk) Allan Holdsworth and all the guitarists who were influenced by him. Jon Hassell (Is he even Jazz?) Shatki? There's a few for starters, I don't have a lot of time for lists this evening.

Define "Fusion". Like "Jazz", it's a pretty broad term.
