  1. And these folks too. I created their web site, did a bunch of free promotion too. Even played in another band with them for six months and wrote a equipment review in Guitar World a few years ago.
  2. I'm noted in the thank yous in Ohm: Early Gurus of Electronic Music Because I knew one of the people who put it together and I was one of many who suggested the title.
  3. I would concur, based on the shape of the cutaway, the tailpiece, and the one "speed" knob in view. It's pre 1957 vintage for sure (tailpiece became more ornate on the 57 models among other things). My guess would be 49-53 era. I wish I could see the pickup(s) that would really help. Additionally, you can see part of the f-hole below the pickguard. It's hollow. The only thing I don't know, is if dots or trapezoid fret board markers were used on 49-53 vintage 175's. Seems like a question for Jim R. Any idea when that picture was taken? Whatever it is, it looks awfully small in Tal's hands. He had huge hands.
  4. Interesting. I'll try it on another machine.
  5. Ah have some problems with the DVD-RW drive, but I've never seen a non-win message in full screen ascii reight before the machine reboots. forkin odd. BTW: using win xp. And this is a real cool disc.
  6. Now I'm playing it on my DVD player, across the room. No problem.
  7. I bought this yesterday, gave it a spin on the way home, purty kewl. So I want to settle down and do some reading and twice I tried to play it on my computer. It crashed both times with error messages I've never seen before. Is this disc copy protected?

    ERIC DOLPHY

Looks like a Dodo bird. turkey strangling is what a friend of mine calls it when a player strangles his horn with his fingers moving up and down the keys like thunder, producing a sound like that of a turkey being strangled. Dolphy is the master. Over here we call it chicken choking.

  10. I don't think so. I do think it's a early Gibson ES-175. It looks like one because we can't see the arch top. Better light would show more of the knobs and the tail piece. We can't even see the headstock.
  11. Can't answer your question but he played with Miles in the '60's. Sould be part of that Seven Steps to Heaven box. Miles in Tokyo (14Jul1964), with Sam Rivers on tenor sax http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...topic=11264&hl=
  12. I wouldn't mind checking it out. Maybe I'll sell a couple of gtr pedals I don't need.
