  3. damn...missed a page again. One of my better ones, too... The Lone Ranger Smokey Stover Ludwig van Beeth-oven
  4. This is ridiculously impressive. To catch Graff, the way she did, winning so many tournaments when her age said she should be fading away is inspiring to an old fart like me.
  5. Linda Danvers Selina Kyle Pamela Isley
  6. Brian Blade Peter Hilt George Frideric Handel
  7. We need a sports team that uses armadillos like that. Of course, it might be a bit tough to sell the lower seats...
  8. More WB stuff. This one is just okay; I'm sure it would have been an enjoyable diversion prior to television, but nothing particularly great. The best thing about this early look at the paparazzi was seeing an extremely young Ralph Bellamy.

  10. Actually, it would be the best track I heard all week three weeks ago, but Sarah Vaughan's Lullaby of Birdland. It's been stuck in my head ever since. It's amazing how lovely it's been, particularly when I compare it to that stretch when my brain kept firing off Melanie's Brand New Key...

  12. I guess I'll have to figure out which book of hers I've read. Maybe it was the wrong period...I kept getting visions of Emily Dickinson trying to write for mystery pulps.
  13. A gangster movie from the viewpoint of the police. Good WB stuff, although I don't get casting Joan Blondell as Lee Morgan...
  14. Mississippi Queen Nile Rodgers Lili Elbe
  15. Yeah, but The Handmaid's Tale was thirteen pages away from being perfect. (I don't understand why she tacked that silly "historical notes" section on the end. Turned a great novel into a "sci-fi" trhiller.)
  16. Angel Martin Beth Davenport Jim Rockford

  18. An old favorite. Worth it for Jack Elam if nothing else!
  19. Bill Tulip Lily Pons Taras Bulba
  20. Actually, it sounds very interesting to me-I was a tech in silicon valley at the time. I was hoping Mr. Robot would be recommended; it caught my eye.
  21. Hah! I just watched A Piece of the Action last night. Also finished up season two of Bosch. I enjoyed it except for that pain-in-the-ass kid. Hmmm. I had the same complaint about a movie a bit ago. Maybe I just can't stand teenagers anymore. And here I am with no lawn... What else is worth watching on Amazon (of their original stuff, I mean)? Man in the High Castle is on my list, of course. Anything else recommended?
  22. Some mid-sixties show I have absolutely no memory of. It's like picking up a copy of "Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane"-your first thought is complete confusion, because obviously it couldn't have come from our world. But I couldn't stop watching. An article I read the other day made an interesting point: there are more people alive who are too young to remember the trial than there are old enough to remember watching him play football. So I guess even here it's now a 'minor detail'.

  25. My apologies for not posting on this thread, but I got extremely superstitious during the playoff run and didn't dare. Alas, in the end, another heartbreak, I assume the last for Marleau and Thornton. I can't believe they gave the MVP to Crosby instead of Kessel.
