Was in a mood for Italian jazz . Bought on Jazzos site (http://www.jazzos.com/) : Tononi Tiziano - We did it, we did it! (3CD) (Splasc(h) World H811) 3-CD tribute to Rahsaan Roland Kirk. Was looking for this one for long time. Trovesi Gianluigi, Coscia Gianni - Radici (Egea SCA050) Already have In Cerca di Cibo from the same 2 players : haunting clarinet and accordion Rava Enrico - Rava Plays Rava (Philology W155) Rava plays his own compositions with pianist S. Bollani. Rava is a wonderful trumpet player Emmanuele Giuseppe - A waltz for Debby (Splasc(h) H200) Mainly for trumpet player Paolo Fresu

for those who missed out the cheap Universal Mosaics

Yes they take credit cards (MC) . Made 2 orders in last weeks Shipping charges for Canada (email from them). Should be the same for US : Shipping and handling to Canada depends on weight: Within 2 kg it is Euro 22,-, from 2 kg to 20 kg it is Euro 32,-. If the weight is higher than 20 kg, the costs are billed the same form thze beginning BTW They still have Basie Mosaic : 8 cds for 49,99 euros Good luck -
Hi, I'm a fan of Hal McKusick, a cool toned altoist that reminds a bit of Desmond and have some affinities with B. Wilen. He played with great jazzmen like Art Farmer, Bill Evans, Eddie Costa. Already have Now's the time, Triple Exposure ans Jazz Workshop. I found information here and there on the site from various threads in Vinyl Frontier and Reissues but nothing more "general". I also saw that there will be a japanese reissue of the Hal McKusick Quartet. My interrogations are : can we find a good discography of his works and , naturally, where I can find some of his recordings on cd . From what I can see there's some incomplete compilations, and others cd's are hard to find. Any information or opinion on McKusick will be greatly appreciated. I also found that there's a double cd called Complete 55-56 Hal McKusick on Lonehill Records but what's on those cd's ?

I was able to pick up 4 Mosaic-Verve sets Friday I sent email in english to service@zweitausendeins.de and someone from there (Stephen) answer me in English. Since I already have an account there (Pepper Galaxy Box, Coltrane Prestige Box and Evans Riverside Box : fantastic bargains a few years ago) the sent me those Mosaics right away (including the Farmer-Golson ). I have a Master Card and everything seems OK. Good luck Michel -

Byrd/Adams goes straight to "Last Chance"
Michel_M replied to Ron S's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
From now on, check eBay They will pop up -
Sure Ed ! Among others will see Hargrove, Blanchard, Toots (with Pat Metheny), Charles Lloyd and since I'm a fan of Italian jazz, will be there for the Rava Quintet at the Spectrum and Paolo Fresu at the intimate Salle du Gésu. Great time in perspective And between shows will be home listening to Byrd-Adams Mosaic

I think that the main reason for this limit by customer for this last chance set is ... eBay. On the other thread about the Byrd/Adams they mention that someone bought 6 copies and where will go at least five of theses copies ?? ... eBay for sure (OOP = $$$). And almost sure that it's not the only multiple buy that was made. It's sure that 2 copies is not a lot but may be the have to put a very low limit because the stock is so low.

When did you first discover Mosaic?
Michel_M replied to bebopbob's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Exactly the same as vibes I joined the BNBB in 2000-2001 and after reading about those sets, I bought the Thad Jones (BN/UA/Roulette) and the Fuller. I didn't expect at all of what I will receive ... Wow, two big boxes with a lot of reading and fantastic music . I was hooked and I particularly cherish those two first sets ... -
Dis you see this one : More than $25, 000 for a ... forehead Here

Lon, I'm also an enthusiastic fan of Wilen and I remember that you already published, years ago, an article on Wilen in a short living publication called Doo Bop or something like that. I remember it because a few days after reading it I was able to score 3 Wilen cd's in a used shop here in Montréal (Sanctuary, B. W. Quintet and Wild dogs of the Ruwenzori , all superb ) It was a very interesting article on Wilen with a few suggestions. Would you post it for the benefit of Wilen fans ?
-
Where can you buy these Vogue in Paris (naturally at the best price) ? Interested in the Raney's and Wilen. Thanks

If someone doesn't have the Mitchell, time to get it. It's a superb hard bop cd. Just look at the line-up : Curtis Fuller, Wynton Kelly, Jimmy Heath, Philly Joe and Sam with Blue

How many cd's that represents ?
