  1. Is it something worthy of reissue?
  2. Can anybody comment on this album? It's shown in the new BN Album Cover Art Book as being a Japanese-only released album. Is this material available anywhere else? Thanks in advance!
  3. How 'bout these guys??
  4. Really?? Where'd you smell that??? And, what else is cookin'???????? (is there an echo in here??) Actually I'm hoping that's what I smell. Either that or I need to do some laundry. Seriously, this one would make a great Conn release. I predict Summer 2004...........along with Goin West', Natural Essence, Dance w/ Death, and Cirrus.........aahhhh heck let's throw Contours in there as well
  5. I smell Connoisseur release for this one in the next year or so........my nose never lies
  6. I did a search on Google and found this site.. mingos kinya Jazz DJ This doesn't link to the cover but if you do a search it should come up.
  7. I don't have a great, mega bucks invested juiced up system but I do have a system which reveals the weaknesses of some early issue Blue Notes. In particular Search for a New Land and Mode for Joe sound bad to me, on a disc man as well as my main player. No bass, unbalanced and NO DEPTH. However, my system also highlights the beauty of the RVG releases, where applicable (A Fickle Sonance?!? ) The titles I have will be upgraded. Most of the other titles I don't have so it'll be new to me.
  8. Is it this one? If so, MUCH better!!
  9. Went with Moment's Notice. Classic, Classic, Classic. The Bb pedal section right before the break is SWEET and Lee's final chorus on this explodes. I can't tell you how many times I back up my player every time I listen to this.

    Sep RVGs

Went with Let Freedom Ring, but really I'm waiting for all them. The domestic sound of SfaNL and Mode for Joe is abysmal in my opinion. I've been holding off on Adam's Apple so I'll finally be able to snag that. I don't own any Bud Powell. Perhaps that may change soon enough.

    Oct conns?

Tough choice!! I went with the Hill as well. I will be buying all of these(eventually) except the Rivers, as I have the Mosaic. Re: the sound on the Mosaic, I don't hear anything out of the ordinary, but I'll happily listen to it tonight I wonder if the Conn will include all the alternates of Upstairs Blues Downstairs.
  12. I've been eyeing this one up along with some other RG releases. I'm supposed to be saving money right now but I'm not sure that's gonna last too long.
  13. Been listenin' to some stuff that I haven't really touched in a while Miles Davis - Blue Haze, Seven Steps to Heaven Art Farmer - Farmer's Market Kenny Burrell/Donald Byrd - All Night Long Dexter Gordon - One Flight Up
  14. RT That one looks mighty tasty!
  15. Me too for Whisper Not. Roy Hargrove did a great version.
  16. Please add my best regards to the heap. Congratulations Tony! Bill
  17. That's the one............A local Tower has several of these Italian reissues. Elvin Jones' Time Capsule comes to mind. I'm listening to 'Power to the People' now. Ron Carter's bass work is sick.
  18. I picked this up a couple weeks ago in a tan foldout slipcase. A reissue done by a company called Universe, I think(?) Cheap too, only $14.99. Is this widely available, or am I lucky to have found it? Either way I stumbled across a gem. The title track is a beaut as is 'Black Narcissus'
  19. You need more my friend. I picked up the OJC/Milestone disc Joe Henderson in Japan. The version of 'Round Midnight is sparkling. The last track Junk Blues is a burner as well. In 'n Out on BN is great too. Gotta love the duo of Kenny and Joe.
  20. Can anybody comment on this? AMG doesn't really give them favorable reviews.
  21. Timely topic, I was gonna post about this. The hinge to my Woody Shaw Mosaic is BADLY damaged beyond repair. What are the chances that Mosaic might be able to help me out on this one? Would they have any leftovers gathering dust somewhere? Maybe I'll just email them and find out
