Grant Green Club Mozambique UK release
andybleaden replied to The Magnificent Goldberg's topic in Re-issues
Yawn Can you tone down the language or learn some new words? -
done this already myself as my phone as bluetooth connection. I can send my fav mp3 to the phone and make it my ring tone.I had the sidewinder and then got bored of waiting for the trumpet so stuck Quincy Jones' Soul Bossa Nova on ( the one from Austin Powers) ..now on the music from the film Amelie. It is dead simple now the technology is there and there was nothing nicer than a little bit of Alligator Boogaloo as a ring tone AND ITS FREE!

ooops sorry .....got in the way there...CONTACT WALT!

and I too am glad to see these being reissued

I assumed that he was talking about Blue Note, since he'd mentioned Lee and Hank previously. I could be wrong in my assumption.

I doubt the wisdom of sentences like "i like duke pearson more than all of u thats why i want it" as they are similar to what my kids come out with when they want some sweets and there is not enough. in answer to your questions do a search on JRVGs vs RVGs to get the answer to your quest. Just be patient and I am sure a nice cd will turn up for you to BUY

It's Gloria COleman's birthday today

Yes I picked up the Impulse side quick as a flash when it was reissued a while ago....really liked it too. Thanks also for the heads up about the Leo Wright side...did not know about that and so will go and find it -
Wow.....that would be worth attending. Is there anyway we can help to publiscise it with our contacts etc. Hope it can get recorded or even filmed for prosperity......wonder who they will get in.....would it be too much to ask George Braith?
-
well......yes although look how many people here would never have met other Blue Note or Hard Bop or Soul Jazz mateys like we have here. The only difference with a shop was that I used to ( when I was younger) get recommendations from the guy who worked at Decoy Records (in Manchester) then to try this or that and he would give it a spin ....and then I would develop my tastes elsewhere.

Aint that sweet ................he is your pal now obviously Was this per chance on the list? Do tell

I concur with the honorable gentleman I have to say its a crackin little cd...got it when it came out ....erm was it as part of the rare groove thing or just a us issue ........cannot remember now... here for those who do not have the cd/lp/ is the cover
-
tell her it has a virus on it! outrageous ........what ever will they demand next. as for more BJP to listen to I would have to invite you to listen to the Boogaloo Cd and not enjoy any of the tracks on there. I also think Blue John is a crackin lp that is underestimated AND it has George Braith on it too

Yes I see some sense in the article. However I can now buy more types of music now and quicker than before. As commented elsewhere and before we have become very used to the fact that there are lots of Blue Note CDs out there. There never used to be when I started buying em. ...and they cost lots more then than they do now. Why?/...Look around and I can buy the same cd here in the UK at HMV type of places for lots more then I want to pay for them. Alternatively I can go online and get it from the an online distributor for heaps less. Case in point is the new Grant Green cd at Mozambique...ordered through here....my fav board. How easy is that and for not lots of bucks ( I believe I preordered it for $9.70- the shops over here would have wanted me to part with double that I am more than sure) Things change I admit but not always with such black and white results. Just think. How many years as a Grant Green fan did you sit and sulk knowing full well that they would 'never' reissue Final Comedown ( ok it was never that good), Iron City let alone previously unreleasable live sessions

Mean to ask you... where do you keep the booklets?
andybleaden replied to tranemonk's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Whaddya mean booklets??? I thought those were just extra padding and binned em all! Only joking...they all stayed in the boxes along with the cds ....comes out when i pop one of the cds in the tray if I need em -
The Fruit in your Beer Poll
andybleaden replied to Uncle Skid's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I have had the slice offered in hefe before and cider as well but not so much any moe...used to be used to flatten fizzy cider years ago so you could drink it quicker Now I just drink real cider ( alcoholic and bearly fizzy ) and prefer Hefe without a slice and as for corona eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww reeeeeeeeeeeeeeegggggggggg and other warm beer type of words -
I have the Harold Mabern and it was well worth buying. Never got much of a kick from Chet Baker though. Go for Harold Mabern as the Chet stuff will always be around...won't it
-
I wonder if you offered to buy the entire collection at $2.98 they would pay for you to go over to the states and pick em up
-
I guess if they are not shipping abroad we could remind them that the UK technically still owns the USA ( colonies) so they will have to ship at standard surface rate -_-
