    Herbie Hancok

how about something off of Roland Kirk's Domino, from 1962? The Verve ME has a session w/ Herbie as the bonus tracks and is well worth exploring.

  13. Yeah, this is the same interview that has been up on AllAboutJazz for a while. If, as Kevin says, JazzWeekly is trying to install spyware and is using someone else's content I think I shall be avoiding them in the future. here is the link to the interview on AAJ: AAJ interview with Grachan Moncur III

  17. great news! I've been wanting to hear your disc for a while now. how do you guys do (financially) when someone dls your disc off of emusic? I'm just curious if you see any reasonable amount. Otherwise I'll have to wait until I'm off of my current cd buying moratorium and buy a copy directly from you guys.
  18. Yes, they do. That would be another great place to contact.
  19. as much as I really wanted to like this disc it never really clicked for me. I kept thinking how much better Fela's original versions were. One track, I think it was Water No Get Enemy, was fun, but on the whole I didn't think it was a keeper. I might have to go back and give it one more chance.
  20. Rape has nothing to do with "stature" "looks" or the "need to force himself upon anyone" for sex. Rape is about power, using sex to force ones will on another. Saying that he is innocent due to his good looks and money is naive, at best. I have no idea if he is guilty or innocent...that is for the court to decide. I just hope that no more women have to be treated as if their rapist was the victim because they were "in a place they shouldn't have been" or "wearing provocative clothes," etc...
  21. get the box. I did, based on, I believe, Dmitry's recommendation back on the BNBB and never regretted it. It looks like the Knit's site is down for purchases, so I would recommend going Canadian. www.vergemusic.com $70 canadian, which equals $49.88 US. I can't remember if they waive the shipping on an order this size or not. At just over $6 a disc you really can't go wrong.
  22. I just noticed that no one has mentioned Boston yet. I would suggest starting with the Middle East, in Cambridge. They book primarily rock, but I have seen jazz there before. 1).
