  11. the peter brotzmann chicago tentet, iron horse music hall, northampton, mass.,friday may 20th. should be wild enough, though it will be a tight squeeze to get ten musicians on that stage.
  12. the few times i've had a problem with a mosaic box,or wanted info, i call them on the phone. that way they hear your problem, or questions, firsthand. i believe it is hit or miss (imo) sending them an e-mail. in your case it looks like a miss. how the hell could it take over six weeks to get a replacement disc? unless they ran out of stock, and are waiting for a new shipment.
  13. chuck, considering some of your other posts in the past, one never knows with you, does one?
  14. chuck, i am only responding to a previous post,by patricia, that stated the $$$ value of sealed albums could not be that high. when in fact, sealed albums in mint condition, are worth alot more than an opened album. so pfffffffffffttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!! to your WHOA!!!!!
  15. just off the top of my head, maybe people who collect sealed albums also have an opened copy of the same album that they can play. i don't collect albums, but i assume that certain albums, in sealed, mint condition, could be worth quite a bit more than one that was opened, and played.
  16. since i am getting close to completing my blue note collection(or at least what i consider a complete blue note collection), i am now checking into the more obscure titles. daniel a., no that was not too nasty. relyles, i have some of mr. minasi's later cd's. i think they are very good. bill, thanks for taking the time to give them a listen, and your opinion. alankin, you are correct, on dom minasi's website, he tells about all the problems he had with george butler & blue note. thanks again for everyone's input.
  17. has anyone heard the two dom minasi blue note albums: 1) when joanna loved me 2) i have the feeling i've been here before if so, what did you think? without being nasty, if you did not like them. thanks.
  18. another for the duke pearson select.
  19. you guys would not make any wisecracks about my choice of albums, and hurt my feelings, would you?
  20. true, it could be expensive, but it would not be anywhere near 20 lp's. plus, i think they would do a better job of removing unwanted noise(pops, clicks, etc.).
  21. has anyone used a professional service to convert lp's to cd? doing an internet search, there seems to be a number of companies doing this. basically, send in your lp's,they clean up the sound, put it on a cd,and send it back to you. for someone (me) who does not have the inclination, patience, or equipment to do the job,or does not want to keep bothering a friend to do it, this would be a viable alternative.
  22. etherbored, "one of" is the key. it's all subjective anyway. whoever we feel is the best IS the best to us,no matter what anyone else says.
  23. etherbored, imo at ANY point in time, anita oday is one of the best!
  24. i love anita oday. i bought the box. i love the box. i love mosaic for putting out the box.
  25. aw shucks kulu, chuck's just an old softie, at heart!
