  1. Conn, You're not selling insurance again are you ? Mark
  2. Brownie, Hopefully that's a long time away (for all of us)!
  3. 7/4, Thanks for the kind words in regards to my photographs, I appreciate it. I sent you a PM. I'll send the Holland photos on Wednesday morning. Thanks, Mark
  4. .....ummmm, maybe I'll buy all of the OOP titles and sell them myself, interesting.......very interesting! I'm already picking up two sets for board members so they will still get the low, low price, but the rest of you......
  5. I'm holding a copy of it in my hands as week speak (type). It was released on Verve in 1983. #1 Litha #2 O Grande Amor #Con Alma #4 Windows Great recording! Mark
  6. JazzHound, I just sent you a PM. If anyone want to prepay for one of the Mosiacs (by phone), I would be glad to pick it up this coming Sunday and ship them to you. I will be in town to photograph Benny Golson and will surely stop and shop again. I could probably compile a list of Mosaics they have and the costs but again, not until Sunday. Let me know. Mark
  7. ....Nate, that's it!!! Thanks! Mark
  8. My girlfriend buys me music for Birthdays and Christmas, as I always have a list (of future purchases) laying around. She doesn't really like Jazz, but she's good to me! I'm sure I will get the latest Selects or at the very least, a gift certificate or two.
  9. I wonder what will happen to my collection when it's my time to go. Would my better half know where to "liquidate" them? What a morbid thought! Maybe I'll spread them amongst my fellow board members!
  10. Although I would prefer St. Louis, I voted for the Chicago Festival (not fistaval) in the event the guys get to play. To sum this up: #1 Chicago #2 St. Louis #3 Lansing
  11. 7/4, Is this a dare????? I will have them printed in the next day or so. I'd have to figure out how to attach them here, as I am "computer stupid". I would be glad to scan a few and e-mail them to you; PM me your address. I have many other jazz photographs on-line at www.allaboutjazz.com and www.jazzhouse.org if you would like to see some of them. Go to the gallery link and look for my name (Mark Sheldon). Mark
  12. Paul, I don't know, that's my question!!! I think the voting has just gotten started, lets give it a while (at least until St. Louis is back in front). Mark
  13. I went to see the Dave Holland Quintet in Chicago last night. If you get a chance to see this band, don't miss them. Robin Eubanks on Trombone, Chris Potter on Saxophone, Steve Nelson on Vibes/Marimbas and a young kid on drums, who's name I seem to have forgotten ; his last name is Smith! The place (Jazz Showcase) was packed (overflowing) but I sat front and center and photographed all night. Mark
  14. I was shopping at the Mecca of Recorded (Jazz Record Mart, Chicago) music this weekend and a lady had brought in her late husband's music collection to sell. This collection was about 9100 cds and 2000 LP . Among this collection is about 70-80 Mosaic sets, most of it LP, most of them OOP . I picked up a few Mosaics and a ton of used cds, again many of them out of print. Although I thought of keeping this gold mine to myself, I knew I should share it with all of my fellow board members. If you are looking for OOP Mosaics, especially of the LP variety, call JRM immediately (312.222.1467). I didn't see any sets for more than $150.00 but I didn't dig through all of them, only the ones I wanted. All appeared to be in great condition and there were also about 6 sets that were unopened. Happy Holidays to all . Mark (I know you're all thinking "enough with the damn smiles")
  15. Enough of the "Festival"/"Fistival" thing!!! Man, you make one typo around here and look what happens! Conn, how are you concluding that St. Louis has been defeated? Is there a deadline for voting? Mark
  16. The fistival is usually on Labor Day Weekend, but not including Labor Day Monday!!! Usually Thur, Fri, Sat and Sunday. I road trip for the festival every year plus the Jazz Record Mart, The Jazz Showcase (after fest jam is great) and good eats abound! I'm still in for St. Louis in any event. If the band plays the Festival, I'll be there also.
  17. No Preference, anytime is good for me but if it were in St. Louis, having around the time of the Record Collectors Convention would be good. Mark
