  1. ...would have loved to check out the original polaroids!!! m~
  2. I spoke to Jimmy via email and he told me he did a lot of shows of this nature in NYC and doesn't remember anything that stands out from this particular gig. I talked to him at length about other things a couple months ago and he's got a good memory so maybe this show wasn't as memorable in person as it appears to be on paper?? Mark~
  3. Sorry I missed the big day; hope it was a good one!!!

  8. This weekend....Phil Woods at the Jazz Showcase.
  9. I like this album cover, which gives the impression that the music therein is pretty intense, which in fact it is! I'm not sure what you mean by 'poorly composed'. Do you mean the album cover or the music? I used to throw away images like this...now I save them in hopes they will end up on a cover!!! m
  10. Lage played with Gary Burton for some time. m~
  11. Come see organissimo instead! .....if I leave now I can get there in about 3 hours....just in time for your last show! You'll be in Indy soon....I'll see you guys then! m

  15. ...Francisco Aguabella........
  16. Yes...the show was called Cuban Fire....included those mentioned above plus Bud Shank, Bobby Shew, Bill Holman, Gerald Wilson and others. Shew, along with Candido's orchestral used Gil Evan's charts to do Sketches of Spain, which was nice.....Kenton's Cuban Fire was also done. Mark~
  17. Hi Adam, they moved it from LA to the Newport Beach Hyatt (Jamboree Road). I think their event this coming May will be back in LA as it has the past few years. I liked this location a little better but certainly more expensive accomodations. The drive to Charlie O's for a late show was a long drive. m
  18. ...will do.
