  1. Doctor, I've waited out "Newks Time" and am happy to hear you are pleased. I recall Reinier telling something that the original tapes for that session are gone(?). I wish I remembered his anecdote on the session as re-issued. Good new(k)s.
  2. not much other than it's his show but....
  3. mm, check this voice - silvana deluigi and again. ... your "El Sol Que Tu Eres" (nice) lead me there.
  4. then go with the papadum instead.
  5. which title did it get this time? Hootman or Hootnan?
  6. I've just been knocked out by a cut called "Imprevisto" (?) by Bossa Tres! Just phenomenal. The cut resides, as I gain through AMG, on the '...em Forma!' album. Jim R, I see that you mentioned them in the first post. Any elaboration or absolute recommendations here? Please.
  7. Oh my bad. It was "pennies" you were suppose to put in that jar. No wonder the recycling guys never take it.
  8. Yumm, We will watch for when the trunkload of "cartonsleeve" hits the block!!! :rsmile:
  9. Many thanks for yout package EKE BBB! I've listened to Disc I about six times but will not be able to follow this as I would have liked. I will chew on this fully next week. I am completely confounded as I feel that I should know so much of what is included here. A whole lot of familiar sounds. Just a couple of breif bits from my end. 1) ? Sweet! 2) This baby rocks!!! It is a standard but I'm confusing those bits of "Avalon" and "Jeanine" with what it really is. Electric bass?? The drummer is the man here!!! This one will get picked up immediately by the crew. 3) Another standard but "having a yabba dabba doo time" is getting in my way. 4) A Parker piece but no clue who's on. 5) A cut that's driven me crazy for a half a dozen spins. Gotta work on this one... 6) ? but it is "The Battle Hymn of The Republic". no? 7) ? 8) ? 9) ? Unfortunately I have no education in this. Something I need to address. 10) Has that Ibrahim Brand of Africana to it but it's way too light in the touch. A beautiful piece that just unfolds with that glorious right hand. 11) ? 12) Obviously thought Murray at first hit but then lean to Adams and Pullen but boy that just does not seem right in the end. Adams always seems to have more Shorter in his sound but then again I am not privy to his live pieces. 13) Nancy right off the bat. This is where my CDR starts to funk out. 14) Tuxedo Junction but no idea of the artist. I love this BFT. Very appealing to all. I will save # II for a bit til I figure some more out here.
  10. This BFT is an organic thing. You can't rein it in like that. Sit back and enjoy...
  11. If often wondered about this De Sade thing of his. Heard it's very much a collectors item (?). Never heard it and now see yet another revision from Schifrin on this. Tell me more! He did that rehash as well with the Bullitt soundtrack but nothing will compare to the cues on the original. The "bastards" have several editions available and one should only stick with the classic. One of my favorites in the genre. Steve McQueen was also worthy of Jim's accolade above!
  12. ...especially since most of the left wing npr listeners hear his work everyday on Fresh Air. i have not listened to him for a while. any takes on the Tzadik releases of Big Trouble?
  13. How about the Complete Tubby Hayes Fontana Studio Recordings. As the Live at Scott's dates on Red!al are somewhat available I'd really like to see that offered as the rehashed Japonez discs are so darn pricey and so limited that a full size Mosaic would do the trick. Set up some off-shore distribution to keep the drool down in the UK. And I think some people might buy it! 14. Seriously, my mother wants me to cue Kenny Loggins' "This Is It" at her funeral? I'm perplexed as to honor this.
  15. So what race is this young Jackie?
  16. AMG has given credit to the date of '...Tunsia' being "livened up" by altoist 'Ferris Bender'?
  17. you might be able to get this one from RCA on the cheap: used to be this one, that added Lee Morgan with a bigger band for some cuts: absolutely woofer blowing title tune with Griffin and McLean. i specially like the version of "Couldn't it be You" credited to Art here and done as "Fidel" on 'Jackie's Bag' (i think?)
  18. You know what they say about "big feet"!?...
  19. I worked at a lumberyard as a teen & loved paging one of the sales guys - 'Harry Sachs needed in the caulking isle'.
  20. how was he in receiving the "spit" command for once?
  21. Chris, are you sportin some fuchsia polish there or is it lavender?
