  1. That is terrible. The league needs to do right by these people soon.
  2. Eddie Harris,on his comedy record "The Reason I'm Talking Shit" made the statement "The music that we're playing is not necessarily made for you're bumping and jawing-it's made for you to think-so if you're not into thinking I thought I'd tell you before we dropped that shit on you". Most Americans don't want to work to hard at listening to music the more accessible and catchy and the less challenging it is the more likely they'll get behind it and for the most part that leaves jazz-sol.
  3. Mid 60's in Pagosa and all the merchants are bumming because the spring breakers aren't buying ski jackets but as Scott (Parkertown)knows Colorado weather can turn on a dime especially in March and April.
  4. The S&M thing could be a ratings ploy and if so I would have to disagree with that programming decision. As far as I know Octavian did not engage in S&M.
  5. Obssessive- compulsive-maybe but it sounds to me like you just want to get it right and there's nothing wrong with that.
  6. Oh I can wait but if you hear anything don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks Guy.
  7. Personally I'm looking for what's inside the box.
  8. Barry Melrose thought he should have had 40 games.
  9. Very pleasant today. Low 60's. I washed my car.
  10. Happy Belated B Day FFA. Glad you had a good time. You deserved it!!!!!
  11. Thin mints. Must have thin mints. Forget jazz-must have thin mints-must have
  12. Any idea on whether all of these will be rerun before they all go on DVD. The only reason I came on these at all was because I've been in hotels the last couple of weekends and I've got to say I'm really impressed. If they're going to rerun them I might pop for HBO for awhile.
  13. MG winter is hit or miss at this time of the year in Colorado. It is glorious today which works for me because I have to travel today to the other end of the state to Fort Collins. It will probably be winter again when I start covering baseball for the radio station.
  14. Count this CO as another fan of that CO. He started off as a "hack arranger". He handled the arrangements for Leslie Gore's "It's My Party" among others. He can be faulted up to a point for that sort of thing but you gotta do what you gotta do to survive. Since that period he arranged one work of art after another. Unfortunately Ogerman says he's done arranging for other people and he's going to concentrate on his own compositions. Tommy Li Puma had to call in favors to get Ogerman to arrange one of the Diana Krall cd's. Maybe one of these days he'll reconsider but for now Ogerman is done.
  15. Cloudy and in the 50's.
  16. I have the Gilerto/Ogerman floating around somewhere I'll have to dig it up. I have the Jobim/Ogerman "Terra Brasilis","Urubu" and I just picked up "Wave" but I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.Evans and Ogerman recorded several times that I know of over the years once with strings and once with horns. I'm going to Fort Collins this week and I'll be hitting the used record stores hoping against hope that the rusty Evans box will be in one of them.
  17. Hey if I burn bio-diesel in my 3/4 ton truck can I claim an exemption from the macho truck driver cliche. I mostly agree with what you are saying, but the funny thing is in my experience it really isn't that much fun to drive really fast in a big truck. When I use to drive a two-seater I tended to collect tickets and it might just my my advancing age rather that the truck, but the only ticket I have ever received while driving the truck was for not wearing a seatbelt. I wish more pickup drivers felt the way you did and before I become trapped too much in a generalization,in all likelihood most big p/u drivers are just like yourself very responsible and safe. It just seems for me that when I'm having to deal with an overly aggresive driver they're behind the wheel of a big pickup. However, maybe part of that is I drive mostly in a rural area. I'm heading through the Colorado front range which means a great deal of vehicles and it would'nt surprise me if I got a whole different perspective.
  18. Yeah, but when testosterone levels drops, reaction time and sight drops too. So it's safer to stay at distance of large pickup tracks anyway. You have a point there.
  19. Lovely day here. Sunny and 48 degrees.
  20. It seems most of my unpleasant encounters are with drivers of large pickup trucks. Extra horsepower plus a larger vehicle plus extra testosorone equals somebody that I give as much space to and get out of their way asap. Yesterday as I was coming home from a road trip there was one of these individuals who luckily for me was a few miles ahead of me. By the time I got that to that spot their was an ambulance blocking the road. It appears this individual mistook a Colorado two lane for Indy, lost control of his vehicle, smashed a guardrail, left the road and stopped just short of going into the river. So everybody else including me waited over an hour while rescue crews hoisted his ass up from the crash site and onto a waiting chopper. This is not the end of the story however. Once I continued on my way there were four vehicles who made high speed passes on the Colorado two lane which is not lacking for blind spots and what kind of vehicle was it you asked? You guessed it-large pickup trucks. No state should liscense a driver for one of these things until the testosorone levels safely drop.
  21. I watched this for the first time last night and I have a couple of questions. (1)Did Brutus essentially committ suicide by single handedly attacking Antony's and Octavian's legions after the defeat at Philippi?(2)Was it Antony who said the smell of victory was smoke, shit and rotting flesh. BTW I enjoyed the hell out of that episode-guess I'll have to check out the first season DVD.
  22. I have the domestic version of this and "dull" seems to be a rather fitting description. Fortunately the musicians are anything but dull.
  23. Happy Birthday Johnny!!!!
