  1. Just ordered Baby Face's Face To Face today after reading the Baby Face thread. It's Japanese - I think it's the TOCJ, not the JRVG. $18.99
  2. Check out The Trip while you're at it. It's a great session.
  3. In addition to those listed, here's a few others: Tyrone Washington Marion Brown Yuseef Lateef (sometimes) Eric Kloss Art Pepper (late-period) Newk
  4. I only made it to 85. I'd give you my collection when I go, but you'd only have a year or so to enjoy it (besides, you probably have it all)
  5. Unfortunately I've never met anyone face-to-face. My wife always asks me if I'm talking to my "imaginary" friends when I'm on the computer .
  6. Although not Italian, I recommend California Grill (at The Contemporary) and Artists' Point (Wilderness Lodge).
  7. "Your face is my case!" Even better, "this is the worst of my many public humiliations" "who told you to use a salve? i didn't tell you to use no damn salve." "Jackie gonna cash in on your retched disfigurement"
  8. I agree. I like both of these sessions, but they're not for the faint-of heart .
  9. Earl Bostic was great! I like Tab Smith too. Also Paul Bascomb.
  10. "Your face is my case!"
  11. I had it briefly and I traded it away. I guess I was expecting something a little more "free". It's pretty much a straight-ahead hard bop date. I didn't find it too interesting.
  12. I think you'd dig either one of the Marion Browns.
  13. And if you make it through SUDDENLY, NOTORIOUS is on at 4am
  14. Great label! I have many releases as well. Some of my favorites include the following: Marion Brown Quintet Frank Lowe Trio Albery Ayler - Spiritual Unity Charles Tyler - Eastern Man Alone Sun Ra - Heliocentric Worlds I and II
  15. No, Atom Heart has always been a favorite of mine too! Very underrated IMO. Ummagumma was probably the album that hooked me years ago. I have a soft spot in my heart for Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Groovin' with a Pict. Lost interest after Waters bailed.
  16. Good Lord, that'll get ya out of bed! I like to throw on the Jimmy Giuffre Mosaic early in the morning. The trio sessions are nice-n-mellow.
  17. If you decide to come to NYC, send me a PM and I'll give some ideas.
  18. Just picked up a stereo copy of Jimmy Smith's I'm Movin' On. Nice litte session!
  19. Ain't that always the way? Unfortunately!
  20. Do you still play 8 track tapes as well? You have to break their balls on a persistent basis. That's what I did and they finally caved in.
  21. Just sent you a PM re: 3 Sounds.
  22. I tried hard to stay awake to watch all of these. I missed Lady from Shanghai, but caught the encore yesterday. I fell asleep during The Big Sleep and didn't wake up until Postman started. I never did see Double Indemnity, but they air it enough that I'll catch it eventually. Postman is a great film! Plenty of plot twists and turns.
