  1. I gotta go with my avitar, Weasels Ripped My Flesh. I'm also partial to Big Black's Songs About Fucking
  2. Hey Ghost, These archives are great! Thanks for sharing them.
  3. Ayler - Spiritual Unity Jackie Mac - Destination Out Wayne Shorter - Speak No Evil Andrew Hill - Judgement Woody Shaw - Little Red's Fantasy George Braith - Extensions Marion Brown - Quintet (ESP) Archie Shepp - Live in SF More to come..
  4. UNDERSTANDING - John Patton
  5. Never heard it, but I definitely need to. I recently picked up FACE TO FACE and I'm digging it quite a bit.
  6. Two words: Cold Turkey. Take it one day at at time and treat each day that you go without a smoke as a real achievemement. ..and you have to approach this like an alcoholic; you're always one cigarette away from smoking again, so make you're mind up that it's over with from the beginning. Good luck!
  7. This is a tough one to come by on vinyl too! I've tried to grab it on eBay a few times without any luck. I'd love to hear this some day.
  8. I picked up a stereo copy of Stanley Turrentine's Dearly Beloved. Sounds better than most of the other Liberty pressings that I own. Great session too!
  9. I can't find where the sound gets 'wonky.' I've yet to learn how & where McMaster compromised Turrentine's sound. Me either. I listended to Discs 1 and 2 over the weekend and couldn't notice anything bad or peculiar.
  10. Just sent a PM also.
  11. I really like the Noah Howard at Judson Hall session. I haven't listened to it in a while and need to revisit it soon. It has a nice chamber music feel with the prominent cello work.
  12. Hey Mark, Have a great day! Thanks again for the disc.
  13. I played guitar on a self-titled indie release called The Bohemians back in the mid-80s. Also played in a band called House of Chang - a few tracks that we did ended-up on a compilation of NYC bands.
  14. Also, if you're into the Patton/Green grease thing. Green's "Blues For Lou" is one that has definately grown on me over the years. Nice and raw and really, really cooking. The Natural Soul is another artery-cloggin' affair.
  15. Also available STEVE LACY - Futurites, Part 2. Hey, what happened to all of the activity on this thread? Now's a good time to do some Spring cleaning and to clear out some unwanted items.
  16. I'm glad I picked it up. Some damm good blowin' here.
  17. Me too! I've never heard any of his other session though. I definitely need to.
  18. One L, Scott Turow
  19. Thanks Mark! BTW, I still have a copy of Earl Bostic R&B Chronological Classics if anyone's interested.
  20. Thanks for posting that link! It's not that I don't like it, on first listen it didn't sound as good to me as some of the other TOCJs that I own (e.g., Soundin' Off, Steppin' Out). I need to give it a few more spins.
  21. I just received Baby Face's Face to Face from Dusty Groove. It's numbered TOCJ 6471 and is packaged differently from the others that I have. This one has a cheezy-looking back cover with a picture of the artist and titles in both English and Japanese. They reproduced the original LP back cover on the back of the insert. I'm assuming that this is a newer series and I'm wondering how it (they) compare in sound to the older TOCJs? This is the first time I'm hearing this session so I have nothing to compare it to, but on the surface it doesn't sound as good to me as others that I own.
