  1. Ignore the clothes my wife is auctioning (unless it's your thing) and look for Mingus, Jazz Guitar, Booby Bland, etc.
  2. They are very good, but a little pricey. The packaging is superb with nice booklets that devote a page to each track and often have photographs of the labels. The sound is very good, although some might feel a little trebly and hot. The problem for me, or any fan of this music, is that I already have a lot of these tracks on other collections. So the choice becomes is it worth the $ for a few tracks I don't have and the package as a whole. I have 3 or 4 and do enjoy them.
  3. Bill Perkins Pacific Jazz, HTF Lenny Breau, and some rock, pop, etc.
  4. Soul, Reggae, Pop, Jazz, etc.
  5. Meade Lux Lewis, House That Trane Built Radio Show, Chess Blues Box, etc.
  6. Yeah, here's the deal. I got these discs from a dealer I buy a lot from, and then realized they were part of the Concord sale, so there's a good chance many here who would be interested, already have these discs. So, I feel the bid price is reasonbly low (if you didn't already buy them for $3.00!) and if I can't sell them, they'll go in the keep pile and I'll enjoy them.
  7. Don Sebesky, Bill Perkins, Bobby Jaspar, Can You Dig It Soul Box, Story Of Jamaican Music...and some of the wife's clothes (I swear)...
  8. Dizzy Gillespie Mosaic

  12. I may be not remembering this correctly, but I thought RVG had certain days of the week block booked for different lables (BN, Prestige, and Riverside) and that he would indeed engineer them differently to give each a distinctive sound.

  22. For Sale is the Out Of Print Limted Edition Blues Boogie & Bop The 1940's Mercury Sessions. 172 tracks on 7 CDs, 25 unissued, 43 only on 78's and 100 new to CD. Includes the complete Mercury Forties sessions of Albert Ammons, Roy Byrd (Professor Longhair), Helen Humes, Jay McShann, Buddy Rich, Eddie Cleanhead Vinson, Rex Stewart and Cootie Williams. Also included are Gene Ammons, Buck Clayton, Willis Gator Tail Jackson, Red Rodney, Clark Terry, Ben Webster, Rudy Williams, Teddy Wilson, Jimmy Witherspoon, and more. The set is beautifully packaged like on old 1940's radio. Each CD is packaged like an old LP with an inner sleeve inside an LP like cover (each one different). Disc 7 is a whole disc of alternates and rare recordings called "For Collector's Only." Also included is an 80 page booklet with extensive notes, photos, and rare 40's illustrations and ads. Everything is in perfect like new shape except-on one side of the plastic top of the box there is a one inch split on a seam, this isn't very noticeable. And on the bottom of the box there are two noticeable creases in the cardboard-this seems to be a result of the design, as I have seen this in other copies of this set-this does not in any way affect the inside of the box or it's contents. Price $50 shipped Priority Mail anywhere in the US or $60 Worldwide. Paypal or money order preferred. Thanks
