Congratulations edward on both the win and your overall consistency. -
Out of stock at CD Baby, not listed at CD Universe, and selling for $40 and up at Amazon! Going back for another pressing?

I ordered it Friday and have the same fear. I hope they didn't put the defective booklet in these last minute orders. I bought mine a couple weeks ago. The booklet was missing some pages, but they're sending a replacement.

Everyone picked Chicago so ak wins this week. He made some great picks. No doubt that this was the toughest week this season to figure. Three teams got their first wins, 7 games decided by 3 points or less. -
If a Miles biopic were to be produced. who'd play Miles

If this is who will play Miles, not who should play him: Vince Wilburn. -

Great week for the home teams, 11-2 so far. Only GB and Arizona lost at home. -

This isn't correct. I was 8-4 after the afternoon games. If the Bears win, 9-4 going into Monday. -
The recording that comes to mind besides the ones already mentioned is Johnny Griffin's from Bush Dance (1978).

For Dewey Living on the edge of soundsigns and expectations: choices, musics, silence. Spirits of our ancestors coincide, mysteries playing a ballad of the fallen. In the ear of the behearer, the struggle continues: birth, crisis, and broken shadows. Look for the black star, an African sunrise, and old and new dreams.

He also has a BBC Radio 1 program, which you can listen to here.

Bob Marley and the Wailers: Tours during 1970-1973
allblues replied to HWright's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Interesting set of posts! I would also recommend the Steffens and Pierson discography to anyone with more than a passing interest in the Wailers. That includes not only Bob Marley but Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer as well. My only criticism of the book is that I wanted a more complete and current list of releases, not just references to the original albums. For beginners to the Wailers music, the 2 CD set Bob Marley and the Wailers Gold is an excellent sampler, even better than Legend. -
I'm surprised that Dex hasn't been the subject of an AOTW before. This is my first time to select, and I decided on two related albums recently mentioned in the 2 LPs on 1 CD thread. They do in fact show up on the same disc in the Complete Blue Note Sixties Sessions. Recorded two days apart (August 27 and 29, 1962) with the same personnel, Go! (now BN 98794) and A Swingin' Affair (BN 37754) are from the middle of his Blue Note run in the '60s. The material includes the originals, Cheese Cake, McSplivens, and the Latin-inflected Soy Califa as well as Billie Holiday's Don't Explain, Cole Porter's Love for Sale, and Jule Styne's I Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out to Dry. Go! was reportedly Dex's own BN favorite, and it's certainly mine with A Swingin' Affair not far behind. Through the years, these are the DG albums I keep returning to. Every note is exactly where it should be. I've always liked Dex best in a quartet setting, and what a quartet this is! Sonny Clark on piano, Butch Warren on bass, and Billy Higgins on drums. Very sympathetic support for a giant at the height of his creative powers. Although these albums probably aren't new to most of you, they definitely deserve repeated listenings. Whether you're heard them one time or a thousand, give them a spin this week.

Some sources are saying Reynolds won't be back. According to Deadspin, Mike Tirico and others have kept their jobs despite worse behavior. Sounds like someone higher up wanted him out and used this as an excuse to fire him and win points from female employees in the process.

ZERO Almost bought 20 but decided I could live without some of those K2's. Fortunately, the second time I looked, most of you had bought them out.
-
The K2 of Saxophone Colossus is wonderful, but I don't think it's part of the clearance sale.

Interesting that the Hutcherson set is coming out since Happenings, Patterns, Total Eclipse, Spiral, and Medina are out of print and The Kicker, Components, Stick-Up, and Now are limited edition Conns. It would certainly be nice to have all of them in print at the same time.

They're also on eMusic for those who are interested.
