Just got informed that one of the most legendary European homes of jazz has shut down because of Covid-19.
Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen was a cosy jazz venue hosting legendary concerts by Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz and Chet Baker among others.
Jazzhus goes back to 1959, now it is history - I´m dismayed!

Stellar musician in Sweden. Helped establish the Golden Generation of Swedish Jazz during the Fifties aside with Lars Gullin.
Love his All Star Sessions 1953-54 feat. Gullin.
Hallbergs "Blue Grapes,Depressionism" always knocks me out.

Leon Fleisher died 92 years old. One of the most fantastic musicians of the 20th century.
Overcame fate and later played the piano only with his left hand. Very open-minded, too.
Listen to his album "All the the things you are" (Bridge) how he plays modern classical pieces
and jazz standards like the title and "The man I love" - most fascinating.
And when he plays Bachs Chaconne you want to kneel down.
RIP, Leon Fleisher..
