  1. Abdullah Ibrahim ❤️ Johnny Dyani ❤️
  2. Niko is living in Rotterdam I believe so that’s 4 including myself
  3. That's a great track. I love those African records and I still think they deserve a nice deluxe boxed set edition.
  4. I was thinking the exact same thing!
  5. Nice to read these stories. As far as I am aware there's only one other user living in the Netherlands so no meetings (yet) here. If one would ever visit Amsterdam the ideal situation would of course to first make a stop at the Concerto Record Store and then visit the Bimhuis for a nice jazz concert !
  6. Decided to buy this one as a placeholder till a new reissue of these would become available but it sounds so good I doubt I would buy a replacement…. So great to hear how good these lps from the seventies could sound. For 20 euros it really was a steal.
  7. Well the fact that so called spiritual jazz appears to be cool and hip has caused a major amount of reissues in that genre. And I am very happy with that Amen to that!
  8. Such great news! Interested in all three. Looking at previous releases it’s probably going to be a cd and lp release. These Palms are very rare but I assume Clifford has some original pressings?
  9. Thanks HutchFan!
  10. Thanks!
  11. Now finally reviewed on my Mal Waldron blog: https://snake-out.blogspot.com/
  12. I think Mark answer says it all. Been looking for a copy for a while but prices are insane. I stick with my cd version for now. I pleaded for a reissue in the 70th anniversary Contemporary series on the Hoffman board. But I don’t think it has much chance as the music is pretty ‘challenging’. Same goes for the beautiful stuff Sonny Simmons made on the label.
  13. Yeah I love that record, maybe even more than the original LMO. Just had to get it on my favorite format. And for 10 euros I could not resist.
  14. I love that Bang album! Doi Moi is such a beautiful song.
  15. Yeah it's the recent release without the ugly yellow artwork
  16. its here!!!!’ Finally!!!! Will take some more time to review on my blog but first impressions are very good! This is Mal soloing at his very best.
  17. now that’s one ugly piece of vinyl! This is Chet at his sweetest and most sentimental. I could see why it’s a little too much for some folks. I nevertheless like it very much though.
  18. On a hug record fair in Den Bosch. Always thought it was some kind of rule that sellers would tell you if a record was severely damaged. Had a copie of Bill Evans Waltz for Debby and Cannonballs Black Messiah in hands for a pretty high price. Glad I decided to double check the vinyl as it was full of scratches. I think I’ll listen to the JCO record first and then try get back to my senses with the Chet Baker album
  19. Spinning now. I assume a digital cut as the master tapes were lost in the Universal fire? Sound fine to me anyway. Nice flat copy without any clicks or ticks happy with it and looking forward to the Jamal and Pharoah Sanders record. Paper sleeve alert…
  20. I should give that one another try probably. I mostly don’t like the whole Bossa thing (few exceptions) but I love Rouses playing. Yeah! is among my very favorite straightahead jazz dates. And I have to admit: Rouse definitely has that Bossa sound.
  21. I also donated one or two weeks ago. We'll hear from you Jim
  22. Yeah agnostic means you're nor atheist nor religious. You just don't know. I feel that way I think. The universe, it's complexity, the coherence of all physics: I would not state there is nothing. I just think none of the religions on earth have the answers let alone the institutions that represent them. I still remember the first time I heard the suite of the Transition album. It gave me a very special feeling. There was something emotional happening with me. Same thing with Dearly Beloved on Sun Ship. I'd like to call that a spiritual experience.
  23. My favorite Phineas. 🥰
  24. Thanks for telling I never noticed 🤣
