  1. International shipping now avaible. Total sum of 39 euros to NL. Ouch that hurts. I don’t think I’ve ever paid this amount for a cd. But I don’t want to miss it so I just bought a copy
  2. I’ve got three of their reissues…. If I knew back then I would have never bought them! Boycot from now!
  3. Yeah I think so. Sometimes copies pop up at Jazzmessengers or SoundOhm but wouldn’t count on it
  4. Just received a very friendly reply from Matt. He’s talking about a series of records to be released!!!!! So there’s probably more to come. He’s not sure about vinyl releases but definitely doesn’t rule that out. I’m buying these to be sure and might get the vinyl later then. Anyway, exciting stuff. Matt’s still calculating international shipping and will get back on that with me.
  5. International buyers have to send an email. Want to pre-order as well but Matt doesn’t respond to my emails. Also wondering if there’s going to be a vinyl version too. Their last 3lp set was amazing

    RSD Releases

I am told by someone at the Hoffman board that the Ayler box will get a regular release as well. I’ll wait for that one.
  7. Kenny Garrett, Steve Nelson, Charnett Moffet and Tony Reedus
  8. R.I.P. mr. Garnett. I own five albums that he's on and these are all 4.5 or 5 star records for me: The Andrew Hill Mosaic Select, Pharoah Sanders' Black Unity and Live at the East, Mtumu Umoja Ensembles Alekbu Lan and of course Norman Connors' Dance of Magic. He plays some excellent saxophone there. I never got into his work as a leader as I found them a bit too smooth. But he was great.
  9. Great stuff with Harold Land, Blue Mitchell, Kirk Lightsey, Reggie Johnson and Albert Heath.
  10. Thanks! That’s a very informative link. time for some Nimbus West now!
  11. My obsession for completing my Mal Waldron collection (and love for Nathan Davis) made me spent the most money I spent on a single lp for this one. But I haven’t regretted it for a second. This whole band is like magic: Davis + Waldron is a match made in heaven, then there’s Jimmy Woode on bass which is one of the most under appreciated bassists I know and well: Art Taylor needs no explanation. The record is mostly in the ‘Rules of Freedom’ style. It’s the most ‘free’ Nathan Davis that I know on record. Sound isn’t very good and I would love to hear if someone like Fred Thomas from Sam Records could do something nice with it. The fact that according to RYM this is the least known Nathan Davis record hurts. It’s really, really good. just listen to that first steamer and then the beautiful ballad that’s coming next.
  12. Yeah I still haven't heard that one. Might do a Youtube stream because I am very curious. Anyone around here who knows something about the Segue label? According to Discogs it was from Pittsburgh?
  13. Yeah me too! Unusual repertoire for him but I am pretty sure he rocked it as Mark mentioned My favorite Shorter albums are Etcetera and The All Seeing Eye but he made so many great records. And yeah he swung and bopped but his ballad playing.... oh my how I love his phrasing there.
  14. this one remains available at Discogs but I’m pretty sure it’s unofficial? It sounds pretty good for a boot and the cover is very nicely done. This awesome record deserves a proper reissue.
  15. My favorite Shorter tune I guess: This while band rocks. I just love that start of Hanock's solo.
  16. such a great series!
  17. with Frank Lowe, Juma Sultan, Robert Bruno, Earl Freeman and the great Rashied Ali. still on the hunt for those other Noah live dates from this period. Pity they are so hard to find.
  18. it’s Wayne day today. Rip giant of jazz!
  19. Oh no! A true legend. He will be missed. Rest in piece Mr. Shorter!

    Tony Fruscella

Yeah. Is it really allowed to accuse someone of being a pedophile based on something some old lady said? Without the accused one around to say something in defense? And this all in a Tony Fruscella thread? Or am I understanding it all wrong trough the language barrier?
  21. Yeah I like him too, which probably doesn’t surprise pity he hasn’t record any more records.
  22. Classic ‘60’s freejazz. Great reissue by BoWeavil
