  1. So in my highly enjoyable journey trough the Tapscott discography I stumble across some more rare records of his. Reviews are scarce and so are samples of the music. Any board members who could be of help? I am talking about the following records: - Autumn Colors - Horace Tapscott Octet Live - Dissent or Discent - Faith - Little Afrika
  2. A MJQ favorite I already had in a 1969 Dutch reissue which looked mint but sounded like crap. Decided to get the Speakers Corner version that sounds way, way better!

    RIP Ahmad Jamal

Rip. A true original he was.
  4. Excellent stuff. !!!! now playing: my favorite Chico
  5. Any international customers with a shipping notice yet?
  6. That’s a great one. I also love that artwork. Rouse’s very best date as a leader imo. I love every single track on that album. Great band as well!
  7. Great to see this one gets released. Will not pre-order from the States for all the extra costs but definitely buy a copy when available here in Europe.
  8. RIP.
  9. if you spin vol.1 one has to spin…. Vol.2 as well
  10. The Lobero records are so incredibly good. This one was mastered by Kevin Gray and sounds sublime. Looking forward to that new Tapscott record.
  11. ain’t a lot of things making a Sunday afternoon better than Stitt playing Easy Living or Autumn In New York.

    Julius Hemphill

Now this is what I'd call a bargain: https://www.dustygroove.com/item/808351/Julius-Hemphill-Mbari-:Dogon-AD-2LP-200-gram-pressing-with-bonus-track?cat=jazz I guess I don't have to say anything about the music which is of course essential but just like cd version this 2 lp set sounds incredible. 25 bucks! If I lived in the U.S. i'd probably buy a second set just in case
  14. Finally my favorite Hutch on vinyl. Just couldn’t resist the temptation.
  15. I can’t believe they released the ‘Sings and Plays with Bud Shank and Strings’ as a Tone Poet and left the quartet stuff with Russ Freeman on the shelve.
  16. Got this excellent French pressing in the mail yesterday. How I love this session. Most of the musicians are pretty obscure but they know how to swing. Original and playful compositions. Pity that Parker was such a troubled person. His tone on the baritone is very powerful! I like Bill Swindell too by the way.
  17. Rest in peace. He made some fine records!
  18. Rest in peace Kidd Jordan. You were a great voice that will be missed. I remember running half marathons in the woods I always played Unity Call on my iPhone Shuffle and almost got in a trance like state.
