  1. Yeah love them both!
  2. The Eldridge session
  3. Great live recording from the German jazz scene including Mal Waldron on piano. But have to say that both Roman Schwaller and Rocky Knauer also stand out. For those interested, I reviewed it on my Mal blog: https://snake-out.blogspot.com/2021/05/1979-klaus-weiss-quintet-on-tour.html?
  4. Mmmm ok. It’s not on Spotify is it? Otherwise I could have given it a digital spin. edit: I now see it is. I’ll add it to my playlist
  5. Japanese pressing. They never disappoint. I’ve got a lot of them and they all sound gorgeous.
  6. No I haven’t I was sincerely curious what you didn’t like as our tastes match pretty good mostly. When someone makes a statement like that I am curious why it’s not good. Iyer is the only name I know.
  7. RSD release Oxblood vinyl, extra shiny cover limited to 100 copies with a piece of callus from McCoys sons feet (they had to do his entire 2 feet twice for the complete series)
  8. Great stuff!
  9. Why not releasing all of the music.... Silly if you ask me.
  10. This one of the jazz records I grew up with.
  11. Oh yes!!! Barracudas 🥰 Now spinning:
  12. Oh dear I just admitted I was too lazy to read the liner notes 😳 thanks!
  13. Not sure if I read it here but is the sound going to improve in the series or will they all be like volume 1?
  14. Reggie Workman
  15. Oh yes that record has a lot energy 🥰
  16. Yes the first volume.
  17. its here! With another 10 dollar import fees ouch…. Music makes up a lot. Classic Tapscott stuff. Man it must have been something sitting in a church watching the Arkestra. Is it true that the other volumes will have improved sound or am I just making that up?
  18. Always nice to hear Rouse without Monk (but of course also WITH Monk)
  19. Great stuff guys. I saw Brötzmann with his Tentet also with a doubling Paal Nilssen Love and Hamid Drake, Ken Vandermark and Joe McPhee. Just like with Charles Gayle I went almost in a trance like state. Gayle was playing with Rashied Ali and William Parker then. So glad I managed to see Ali playing live. Man that guy could play. I've seen Hamid Drake a couple of times live now also. He's the kind of drummer you just want to keep on soloing. Such a gifted person. Also saw Matthew Shipp once in Eindhoven in a small bar where most people just came to every weekly jazz gig. Those gigs were mostly mainstream jazz gigs by local musicians. Most of the crowd didn't even know Shipp. Half of them walked away during the concert as they didn't connect with the music. I couldnt believe the same thing was still happening as 40 years before with Coltrane and other 'freejazz' pioneers.... Come on man, have some respect, order a beer and just listen. Any board members who saw Bird or Art Tatum? Or is that too far back?
  20. not a big Hammond fan but I definitely dig Patton.
  21. First bare feet in the sand on the beach day of the year. Very nice temperature but with some heavy showers now and then. It’s about 20/30 minutes cycling from my house. We avoided all the rain and came back dry that small dot is my 4 year old boy playing with his spade and bucket. It really felt like a little vacation.
