  1. John Zorn - The Rain Horse Joe Bonner - Impressions of Copenhagen. A big hurray for Pure Pleasure for reissuing more obscure stuff like this. One of my favorite piano works and definitely my favorite Bonner.
  2. As always I should have been patient…. Paid way to much for a Japanese reissue. Must say it sounds so damn good I am definitely not going to replace it with this new one.
  3. Yeah I could see why. In these cases the cd is probably the best option. All of these returns must be a pricey thing but apparently still profitable?
  4. Oh boy so quality issues starting to happen to the cd issues as well 🤨
  5. Yeah well it differs so much per label/company. I'd say that Sam, Pure Pleasure and Acoustic Sounds mostly bring out top quality.
  6. Wow! What a great release this is. Amazing to to hear these tunes live with Dolphy. Dolphy’s flute is a bit far in the mix but part from that sound is pretty good. The vinyl on the other hand…. Man they should be ashamed of themselves asking 40 euros for this. Both records warped, paper scuffed because of the paper sleeves and a very thin sleeve that comes already with ringwear when it’s fresh from the factory. They sell them anyway of course….
  7. Oh yes that’s such a great record
  8. 56 years ago Coltrane died. I decided to make my little music room as a place of honor to the grandmaster this week
  9. Yeah Sam records did a great job 👏
  10. this mornings selections starting with this great music, than do a CrossFit workout to come home and find out the wife and kids are off to my parents in law. I love my wife and kids but I also love a good afternoon alone with some more music and some reading!
  11. These ECM originals sound great. If I’d had one I wouldn’t buy this one but I only had a cd issue. It sounds like an original
  12. ECM got their own ‘audiophile’ series out now as well. Sounds great and this a favorite of mine from the label (there’s some stuff on ECM I really like and also quite a lot I don’t like). The prices of these are fairer than those of the Tone Poets and the Acoustic Sounds. Funny as a few years back the Blue Note and Verve cds were the cheap ones and the ECM’s were expensive.
  13. A Blue Note favorite. Was really looking forward to this Tone Poet. Sounds excellent!
  14. There’s really no reason to buy this for me part from the insane price. All of this music I already have or is not of my interest. The recent AS issue of Karma is excellent.
  15. Cool! I also have the unofficial copy and that one doesn’t sound very good. Hope they make something great out of it.
  16. Thanks. I listened to the whole thing on Spotify and have mixed feelings that range from oh my god this is good to this sounds like the guys were having a nice little jam session. Still not sure what to think about the whole thing. Will listen some more the coming weeks.
  17. Any thoughts on this one? There’s a 3LP reissue upcoming released by Pure Pleasure. https://propermusic.com/products/nimbuscollective-liveinlotusland
  18. I’ll pick that one up for sure!
  19. Mal Waldron’s The Call with Jimmy Jackson, Eberhard Weber and Fred Braceful.
  20. My vinyl set up is in the attic room. During summer time it mostly gets too hot to spin a record with temperatures below 70 and some moderate showers today is an excellent today for finally trying out this one. What an amazing record this is. Every track with its own unique sound and awesome contributions by every band member but especially Lancaster himself and Sonny Sharrock. Superior Viaduct did a great job as this sounds excellent.
  21. Nope. Heard nothing yet
