  1. Oh yes this is such a great record. Very happy with the TP reissue. I have always loved the cover art. Showed it to my art teaching colleague that doesn’t know a lot about jazz: he said damn that’s a nice cover!
  2. Allright thanks guys both of those series are helpful. I will pick up some of hose separate releases. Have to check out what’s the best way to obtain most tracks. Japanese LPs are definitely attractive to buy. As a matter of fact: Japanese sellers are almost the only ones that sell vinyl on Discogs for reasonable prices. Maybe because the vinyl hype isn’t that big over there. And for me Japanese vinyl is like Japanese cars: high in quality and very reliable.
  3. Is there a LP or LP set compiling Birds small group stuff on Verve excluding the bigband/latin/strings stuff. I already have the complete master takes on cd but would like to have the small group stuff on vinyl as well. His discography is so overcrowded with all sorts of compilations I haven’t managed to find what I am looking for. Maybe you guys could help me or maybe I am looking for something that does not exist.
  4. These are all great and would make one hell of a Mosaic.
  5. Paul Desmond + The Modern Jazz Quartet 🥰
  6. I’d say the 60’s is my favorite OP decade. I enjoy these records a lot more than the drumless trio from the ‘50’s and the Pablo stuff from the 70’s. This Exclusively for My Friends series is lovely and MPS delivered some top quality sound. These 5 dollar discs sound like audiophile records.
  7. I think this one was meant to be one and it really sounds like a very, very solid Blue Note date.
  8. the last McCoy for the day
  9. how bout this one @mjazzg?
  10. Agreed 100%. I’ve learned to like a lot of music by keep playing it. Sometimes you just never reach that point where it works out for you, but a lot of times you do. My shelves are full with music by artists I did not really appreciate at first. Among them are Horace Tapscott, Jackie McLean, Sam Rivers and Wayne Shorter. I wouldn’t want to live without them now!
  11. I am shocked 😵‍💫

    Fred Anderson

Great stuff. Gonna put that on my wishlist
  13. It does @mjazzg and @HutchFan are mostly like minded in jazz with me and a pretty good reference in what I like and not so when they like something and I don’t I start doubting myself… now spinning : Intense stuff. One of his jewels on Milestone. Great sound by the way
  14. It’s been a while I spun that record but remember that I was slightly disappointed and expected more from this line up. I had trouble with the vocals. Perhaps I should revisit it and give it another try.
  15. Pass for mee too. Got it on vinyl and the cd with most of the extra tracks.
  16. Both but especially Azazel
  17. 🥰😍❤️ But there aren't enough emoji's to describe what I feel playing that record. What a band and what a record
  18. No idea to be honest. I like some of those: the Uri Caine, the Masada String Trio, the Erik Friedlander, the Bar Kokhba, the Mark Feldman and the Craig Taborn. For me Zorn is putting out way too many records. Its really quantity above quality. I really like some of his projects but it's pretty hard to find them as I don't feel listening to all of the stuff that he puts out.
  19. Such a nice guy he is. One listen to Wonderwall says enough to me. We shouldn’t take the man too serious. But if he’s serious with that remark about four people that are all playing different things by themselves at the same time it seriously shows his lack of musical knowledge and hearing. Poor fellow.
