  1. Way to go Gheorge. Your music is just like your posts: lots of energy, enthusiasm and love for the music itself. Keep up the good work!

    Steve Lacy

Anyone knows if there’s a full discography of Lacy?
  3. Lovely compilation of the two albums Sortie, Disposability plus two previously unreleased sessions. Sound is great and beautiful artwork. Now spinning Sortie plus a 1972 Paris session with his then regular groep consisting of Steve Potts, Irene Aebi, Kent Carter and Noel McGhie.
  4. must have been a great night there in London @mjazzg
  5. Don't have the box but do have almost all of the music on it on seperate releases.
  6. If you have the Google translate app you could use Google Lens to translate. I do that now with all my Japanese cd’s and it’s great to be finally able to read those liners I never got into those later albums. The one on Impulse! I do enjoy a lot is the Village Vanguard concerts. Now spinning:
  7. Good one. The Pure Pleasure reissue? Or an original?
  8. He was such an exciting pianist. Glad he came up in the Blue Note reissues to give him some more attention. I also love Steve Lacy’s interpretations of his work.
  9. If those seats weren’t occupied yes
  10. This wasn't planned at all, but... I'm on vacation in Sicily with my family this year. We're walking around Taormina and I see ads everywhere for the Taormina Jazz Festival. On July 22nd, Dave Holland is coming to play in the ancient amfitheater. Entrance: free. I had to see this! Went up there early to get good seats and it was such a magical experience. This is definitely the most spectacular place I’ve ever witnessed a concert in. So he was there with his trio with Chris Potter and Marcus Gilmore. Dave was in excellent form, looking vital and healthy. He played great. Gilmore is a great drummer. Only Potter left me cold I must say honestly. I never got into his playing and this time was no exception. It’s like he just plays and plays without getting somewhere… no showstopper: everything else made up for it.
  11. I like Ozzy. Not a collector or huge fan but I know all the classics by him and Sabbath and their all in my rock/metal playlist. He meant a lot for that music (also with Ozzfest). I also enjoyed the reality series which is probably not an example of quality tv but always made me laugh when I was a teenager. With his lifestyle it surprises me he got that old. Rest in peace
  12. RIP. A great pianist
  13. now that’s an OBI 😇
  14. These series were both released when I was around 15 years old and started listening to music. I remember some Amsterdam stores sometimes sold them discounted for 7,50 a disc and I spent all my hard earned money from my part time jobs there on those Blue Note series.
  15. Also saw Ambrose Mukinsire but he didn’t make any impression.
  16. Yes he is! He reminded me of Freddie Hubbard in both appearance and sound.
