  1. Funny you mention this Gheorghe as I had a similar experience at the Bimhuis in somewhere like 2008. Mr. Sanders just finished his diner and sat right beside me. I brought me a copy of Village of the Pharoahs with me for the occasion but when I had the chance I didn’t dare to ask. He had such an expressive and serious face I feared he might get angry I bothered him with something like a signature while he was drinking his drink with his band. After this I’ve heard he was a very kind and warm personality and always regretted I did not ask him. Now playing my probably most cherished boxed set: CD1: the unissued sessions with no less than Charles Tolliver, Pat Patrick, Bennie Maupin, Ron Carter and Ben Riley. My God this is good.
  2. From you that’s all I need to know 👍
  3. the duo at its best.
  4. not something I play too often but if I do it remains a wonderful experience. I always put the lights out and close my eyes for 40 minutes. Fascinating soundscape.
  5. okay Craft did a very good job again. This is a huge improvement to the MOV copy I used to own.
  6. But you said you are not a completist. It would be fair to sell your cd copy and buy the vinyl copy anyway, even though you can't play it 😝
  7. Should I get Schizophrenic Blues as well?
  8. I am not the biggest Brötzmann fan but this a great recording. Hamid Drake is on fire 🔥
  9. Same goes for Jackie’s Jacknife. I have the original double LP that contains a session that’s on the mosaic set only. I don’t think they will include it in the TP but its a very good session.
  10. The whole subscription thing is a real shitty thing to do, for the fact of those exclusives. I really hope one of the BN's I am still on the hunt for will be locked in.

    Roy Haynes RIP

He was an drummer. Must be something if you’re able to say you’ve played with both Bird and Trane. Haynes finest moment imo: that’s some serious tight drumming 😍. Not a lot of people could have replaced Jones without affecting the chemistry of the Classic Quartet RIP Mr Haynes you were amazing.
  12. Must be an impressive collection Felser good luck selling them. Theres definitely some gold to dig up here 👍
  13. Too much Coltrane influence to my taste….
  14. Archie Shepps Black Gipsy on the Verve Free America Series

    Lou Donaldson RIP

R.I.P. Mr Donaldson. You’ve lived quite a life. Thanks for the music

Yup it's Coltrane playing in French....
  17. Still enjoying this boxed set a lot. Bought it for something like 25 euros. Lovely music, great sound and a very nice booklet. Now spinning the first disc which contains music from The Shape of Jazz to Come, Art of the Improvisers, Twins and Change of the Century.
  18. https://store.ververecords.com/pages/verve-record-club Probably no potential subscribers around here but wanted to share for those interested anyway. Personally I would never subscribe to such a series as I am pretty picky in what I want to buy and what not. 45 dollars a month is a lot for not being sure you're getting something you like. In these cases it's probably more economic to buy one overpriced copy of the LP you'd really like on Discogs than subscribing ending up with stuff youre not interested in.
  19. You must have a great collection Felser. A nice detailed list. What's the reason your selling so much of them?
  20. Bought right after Vijay’s excellent concert in Amsterdam. Another great one from this trio. Compassion is something the world needs especially today Vijay said and he’s very right about that. I just found out my LP display works for cds as well
  21. Well I am sincerely interested. Some of them had a Scorpio hype sticker I believe. I just can’t imagine a company could distribute an illegal product in these enormous quantities and selling them trough all kind of well known sellers. Especially because it’s not a European country with its more flexible PD laws but an American company. It would be a logical step for Blue Note to sue wouldn’t it be? And I think they have the financial capacity to make a case. If anyone has a contact at Blue Note I would really like to know what’s the story. After all I already started this
  22. How is that possible considering copyright and US law? And then to distribute on this scale? And Rainbo preses them that’s a pretty big company right? Would they participate in something illegal? Most of the ones I owned sounded pretty dull and lifeless. jSangry shared this useful article: https://vinyldiscovery.blogspot.com/2017/08/a-primer-on-rhinoscorpio-jazz-reissues.html?m=1
  23. This Scorpio might be the exception https://www.discogs.com/release/2172266-Cliff-Jordan-Cliff-Jordan
