  1. About a half-a-dozen copies on eBay at a reasonable price and the entire album is on YouTube.
  2. At least some of Ford's decision to withdraw from this market was driven by its increasing focus (no pun intended) on self-driving cars.
  3. Is true that Sonny Clark played on some of Washington's Mercury recordings? If so, does anyone know which ones?
  4. If you're going to have one, this is the one to have (IMO):
  5. Fuck Neil Young. He's nothing but a grifter.
  6. Never been much of a Jarrett fan, but I pull this one out every so often:

  8. The Mosaic website now indicates that the Savory Collection release date has been pushed back to April. Normally, that wouldn't be a concern, but with the disclosure of financial issues within the business, I'm not so sure. Has anyone heard anything?
  9. http://uptownrecords.net/product/serge-chaloff-buvette-club-rock-island-february-1953/
  10. I know these weren't leadership dates, but I'll still take "Nigeria", "Oleo" and "Gooden's Corner", the three albums Clark did with Grant Green.
  11. My apologies. I went down for an internet hoax.
  12. Regardless of his politics, he made a lot of good movies and a few great ones, e.g. "Letters From Iwo Jima". Not to mention he had great taste in music.
  13. There were three pianists who played on thr Christm There were three piano players who worked on these sessions, Al Delory, Don Randi and, yes, Leon Russell. No way to know if he played on this song. Interestingly enough, Sonny Bono contributed percussion parts and some sources say Barney Kessell was also involved.
  14. Rock and Roll HOF inductee gone at 74. A tough couple of days between his passing and that of Leonard Cohen.
  15. From Swedish guitarist Lars Schurse: https://youtu.be/BqCBXnTk_rk
  16. Lets not forget Toots Thielemans, the whistler.
  17. From what I'm hearing, Harper could command as much as $750 million. Hard to believe. That would be more than twice the size of Giancarlo Stanton's current deal with the Marlins. And I thought the NBA was crazy.
  18. The Yanks are taking the long view. Stock up on high end prospects now. Tex's salary is gone this year, A-Rod and C.C.'s at the end of 2018. That will co-incide with one of the best free agent classes in recent memory including but not limited to the likes of Bryce Harper, Manny Machado and Andrew McCutchen. Throw a couple of those guys on the fire along with the young talent, and you have the makings of a very good and a very young team. I know a lot of this depends on how the prospects fare, but if you're a Yankee fan, you have to be excited about the possibilities. While there's no love lost between me and Brian Cashman, I think this may be the best work he's done as the team's G.M.
  19. Richie Kamuca had three albums released on Concord in the '70's, "Charlie", "Drop Me Off In Harlem" and "Richie". Would sure like to see those made available.
  20. Elvis' original guitarist who, along with Bill Black and D.J. Fontana formed the group that changed music forever. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/28/arts/music/scotty-moore-hard-driving-guitarist-who-backed-elvis-presley-dies-at-84.html? https://youtu.be/2fXCrYEPKjs
  21. The fact that Edsel's middle name was Albert and that he and Gene were both born in Chicago, would seem to attest to his legitimacy.
  22. I haven't posted in a few years, but I still occasionally drop by and catch up. Anyhow, I thought I'd throw this out there. I was a big Leslie Gore fan back in the day. http://youtu.be/RY_kKpEqwNs
