    Funny Rat

Just for your information, behind DISCONFORME is hiding BLUE MOON who owns the much celebrated label FRESH SOUND. Thanks for that - I saw (on the Disconforme site), that they are distributing Lonehill. Did anyone find out if Freshsound and Disconforme are the same, fundamentally? Or just closely linked? ubu
  7. I see the fellow europeans get their disc - I did sign up, didn't I? Hope it's only swiss post that's slow again... ubu
  8. abuse you say? ah yes... I think some of the phrases from your original post steered it all in that direction, wouldn't you agree? Stuff like "an obese American white male, who puts in a straight six hours a day on the board, shovelling junk food and beer in one end while expelling Bronx cheers out the other, occasionally breaking to surf some porn and maybe jerk off, who thinks Kerry is some sort of radical, and all the while imagines, Walter Mitty-like, that he's an influential and respected arbiter of taste at the centre of the jazz world." isn't exactly scoring many points in the white glove department, nor does it really scream out to have an honest, friendly discussion, does it? Maybe you would like to start over and use some of those smileys or equivalent explanatory remarks. You put a big foot in your mouth, the board collectively pointed that out in all its diverse manners, and now you return to whine about THAT? Don't, it looks too sad. Before you can turn to business as usual and start any adult discussion about this topic, you really need to polish up your act. Your last post is just as condescending as the first one, so please once more, try again, this time wiv FEEWING! huh? Now, wasn't the abuse part (and the reason why John and me had so much fun here ) that while we might be white, we're (well, at least not 100%) not Americans... now: you abuse this thread to excluse us White Male Europeans from this discussion! (We're even worse, in several aspects, by the way: In adopting the US white male trash behaviour, we do even better: 10 hours on the web (9 1/2 of them in porn sites, obviously), two kgs of cheap meat a day, pop corn, diet coke all the time, dirty t-shirts, fat bellies hanging out, smelling out of our mouths, not shaving except maybe on sundays... in fact, you could say: we jerked our brains off attempting to be the better white male americans than white male americans ever could be.) ubu
  9. impossible - as a great Dolphy fan and growing completist... (you know how it continues)... I will have that stuff some day, anyway... Brad: the ARE Definitive, see here, the Lonehill page right on their website. ubu
  10. Don't bother, they suck. Clear words... thanks! What's the best way to get the Iron Man stuff? I have a Charly disc, as well as a WestWind, they do overlap a bit, but I think I got all - however, it would definitively be nice to have that music on one disc, decently remastered, complete discography, and some good liners... ubu
  11. What would the Dolphy be? Could this be (the "first time all together on one CD" would point in that direction) the complete session with Donald Byrd and Nathan Davis? (I never had those) ubu
  12. This was originally on the Warwick label. And it's Teddy Charles not Edwards), of course... Damn it Brownie... can't I have a beer in the afternoon.. well morning actually well it was a bloody mary Virgin really.... but I burnt the eggs
  13. The Bowie/Shaw is not so good - rather erratic, Shaw often splashing away a bit, and Bowie not too inspired. As I remembered it, in fact, but I did not want to diss it without giving it a listen, as it's been several years. If someone is still interested, I have that date on the first release on this site. It has Bowie's two other Muse albums, and they're quite good, as I remember (I did only re-listen to the duo date so far). ubu
  14. Why does having a drink mean you would have to take the day off?
  15. So go ahead, won't you? There's some good drinks to have in the morning: irish whisky, honey, whipped cream... Or otherwise, just have a grappa with you double espresso... ubu
