I hope we'll see something like the series I put the list together of, but I guess we won't... BMG are maybe the most moronic among the big ones, as far as marketing and reissuing jazz goes... well, except for Bluebird! ubu

Maria Schneider - forget looking in your CD shop!
king ubu replied to A Lark Ascending's topic in New Releases
Listening to the disc right now! Wow! Will have to listen a few more times, for sure, and soon, too! Love what I heard so far. Thanks, everybody! Btw: shipping is incredibly fast! Ordered it a day after I made my last post above, and got it today, already! ubu -
Me again B) Just picked up used copies of CT's Akisakila Vol. 2 and One Too Many Salty Swift... for less than 15$! Nice find, I think! Can someone help me with the contents of Akisakila 1? I guess it's OOP, right? Or at least pretty hard to find. ubu

Like it a lot! Had a soft spot for it since I first got it. And the tambourine man doesn't get in the way at all. Isnt't he the one also on Ike Quebecs Soul Samba? ubu

The Capitol trios is a good one. I don't know the RCA one, though. The real meat though, must be the early RCA trios/quartet (but I'm sure you have them, yes? Nice 3CD set, out for quite some time) ubu

I gladly accept your offer anyway. Bates Motel is laughable. This is some scary shit: Well of course! All the more if you weren't offended! You may even become Herzog of Transilvania, if that is preferred... And that scary shit is where you live? ubu (scared to death ) -
And that dealer didn't have a second one? A true bargain! Cheers! ubu

Wow! Care to share a bit? I've just visited a Schwitters and an Arp/Schwitters exhibition in Basle! Schwitters was a giant! Right up there with Duchamp - well, almost... Tony, I'm not sure about any dates, being at work. I'd have to check with my Dada-books. The best reference, if you read German, is still Hugo Ball's diary "Flucht aus der Zeit". ubu -
I havent seen a line up just yet all in Jazzwise this month it has the dates & the following - 'He will appear on tour in November with a trio & a specially recruited big band players such as Jason Yarde & Tony Kofi ' Sounds interesting! Hope he'll make it my way, too!

Actually, no one was really faster than me, but that has become quite a long and lame story by now... (this just to correct my original post) Don't know the Schiano either, but it sounds very very good! ubu

Hugo Ball Eroeffnungs-Manifest, 1. Dada-Abend Zuerich, 14. Dada Tzara, Dada Huelsenbeck, Dada m'dada, Dada mhm' dada, Dada Hue, Dada Tza. Wie erlangt man die ewige Seligkeit? Indem man Dada sagt. Wie wird man beruehmt? Indem man Dada sagt. Indem man Dada sagt. So July 14 is your birthday, Tony? Quatorze juillet, not a bad day... but that's rather Robbespierre than Voltraire -
Here's AMG on the Jones/Lewis: Based on the one of their duo albums I have ("Evening with two Grand Pianos"), I'd easily pick it, as I admire Lewis and love Jones... they make a great team! ubu

The box only goes up to 1963. None of the European stuff from 65 is on there. Also, as far as I know there have been releases on labels such as Charly/Le Jazz with concerts not in the box. (Graz comes to mind, a 2CD set available on that label. Would have to check for more.) ubu

They're creating a shitty venue there, it seems. Retro-dadaism, instead of a memorial place. That movement is over, and it's no use trying to copy it. However, they planned opening a pharmacy there... Tart Warmers ubu -

thought it was time for a change, after having had my original one since the start of this board... btw, the cuckoo clock, so it seems, is originally a German product. Except for Japanese tourists, no one buys them anyway (well, maybe some almost mentally-retarted folks... ) I know of nobody that has one hanging in his house or appartement! Toblerone on the other hand ubu -
Not I , but I will be one of the first in the queue for tickets when he plays in a venue near me on Nov12th. Wow! I'd love to see him! Some shitty shitte happened over there in the O&LF section, but it's over now. Lèse-majesté... I was too lazy to also post a reply, and instead only sent a PM, and that PM was not read until after others had replied (my PM was half a day earlier...) Stoopid king! Gary, in what line up will you see Rivers? With that Bernstein group? ubu

With the lame and expansive (control freaks! opening each package!) swiss folks, it may take up to three months! On the other hand, when they don't open a package (which happened once, with maybe fifteen orders), it can be as fast as two weeks. ubu
