  1. yessir! don't know the music, but this certainly is a nice cover!
  2. What I do when I have to send my CC information via e-mail is to send it in two different messages. Not totally sure if this is helpful, anyway... Yes, I do it that way, too, but still... On the other hand, it's irrational... Amazon and other such sites have all that info saved for eternity, and I guess they *could* be hacked, too, so...
  3. that's when you go foutre at the beach for a change... brought to you by courtney love, or what?
  4. Although I only once bought something from you directly, I chime in... For me, both is fine, although I think PayPal would be my preferred option - it works faster and is easier than sending CC info by email (which presumably is not such a good thing, anyway...)
  5. what's she holding? a giant purple see through undy?
  6. Oh, and if I learned anything from this thread, it is that there clearly is no shortage of pubic hair in Phoenix, Arizona...

Here's proof finally, that Peter Brötzmann is not only part of mainstream, but rather at the core of the smooth jazz scene! Chaney says it, so I believe it! in case some of you don't find this all that funny, it's part of my "Paul Desmond is a hero and an all-time jazz great"-campaign, which has its origin in this ugly thread
  8. (1) It's problematic that he played it differently than the way it's usually played? I'm so glad Brötzelmeister never tackled that tune! It would be all over in those shopping malls, no escape! Brötzmann is the *worst* in easy listening smooth jazz! Proof!

  10. here's some of the swiss ones... ("in front of god, all men are equal, hiv-positive or not") Of course the church (national churches, that is, protestant and catholic) backed out, and the catholics were offended...
  11. Wasn't Bill Evans that junkie guy? Paul Desmond is not jazz. He's worse than Kenny G! donkey-ass moron (or how does that saying go?)
  12. Parts of Samuel P. Huntington's "Who Are We?" - some creepy shit... some good observations.. some paranoia... all put through a nationalist popularization and over-simplification programme...
  13. Not guilty! None of the above! Mine will be easy to spot if it ever makes it; it's signed 'Grumpy old moose' and rails against labeling something Coke Classic when it still contains corn syrup rather than sugar.... well, in that case have a coffeine (and cocaine) free diet coke on me: - Fat Free - Very Low Sodium - Zero Carbs And please be sure to submit a review! The world needs to know more about this!
  14. anyone seen Assi Dayan's great film "The 92 minutes of Mr. Baum"? The plot's quite simple: Mr. Baum is told, at the beginning of the film, that he has about 92 minutes to live. After 92 minutes, obviously, he dies... hilarious film that has a great humour and is sort of kafkaesk (remember Kafka used to laugh out loud when reading his texts...)
  15. so which one is yours, Mr. Moose? Ils sont fous, ces Américains!

I won't order anything else from discplus right now, but I saw those when browsing the sales list. ghnrtg, thanks for you offer on the Graewe! Do you want to give it another listen based on D.D.'s post? If not, I'd gladly accept your offer! I haven't got many Graewe recordings, so far, but what I've heard I liked quite a bit!

Capers & Quirks" are both not available (lame! they mail out a link for a special sale, I order within twenty minutes and they don't have the listed items... they never had them, in the first place, or they don't have them anymore, but didn't update their website before sending out the link for their sale...) Is "N.Y. Capers & Quirks" worth hunting down? How about "Ramifications"? I have the three first discs by the Eskelin/Parkins/Black trio and like them alright (though so far I have not been convinced fully).
  20. Gene Krupa, Charlie Ventura, Teddy Napoleon
  21. I have this one: And I assume that's the other here: Are they from the same date? I don't consider Ventura a very interesting player - he's playing a bit too much "for the crowd" and is not all that subtle... However, Bill Harris and Dave Tough are smokin' indeed! I think my want for Ventura is satisfied by this disc and the parts of the Mosaic (which, in part, are quite good - but just as with Bill Harris, I think Ventura is no match for Flip Phillips, really). I'll have to consider this second Highnote disc, though, on the strenghts of the first!
  22. Just in case the Bethlehems come not yet recommended muchly enough... this one here has no novelty stuff and is a plain killer: Look at the line-ups and tunes: Herbie Mann(fl,ts) Joe Puma(g) Ralph Sharon(p) Milt Hinton(b) Osie Johnson(ds) Chris Connor(vo) NYC / April, 1955 Blame It On My Youth, It's All Right With Me, Trouble Is A Man, All This And Heaven Too, All Dressed Up With A Broken Heart, Ridin' High Kai Winding, J.J.Johnson(tb) added. NYC / April, 1955 Someone To Watch Over Me, The Thrill Is Gone, I Concentrate On You, From This Moment On Can't be that bad...
