If this disc is indeed a selection (and not a piano solo) from that jazz opera, it would make sense... I saw old Hats in that store, too, a few months before they were reissued in the hatOLOGY series.

I am confused... the disc I thought I saw is a piano solo release... maybe I got the title wrong? Also it's a 1CD release... got to go back to that used music store and have a closer look!

Misha Mengelberg fell from the stage at his "Monk's Casino" concert in Bern April (or was it March?) this year. Thus the concerts that followed had to be played without him, and I know for the Zurich set (I wasn't there, but I was told be several friends), all the better... EDIT: It was Schlippenbach, not Mengelberg! ( )

Not this Robert Walser, to be precise. I see Amazon lists one book of short prose here. Check this out, I beg you! This is what he was the master of (not to put down his novels, but he was mainly great doing these "Prosastückli")! Also if ever any of his other books turn up in English, don't hesitate! He published five or six or so books of short prose before and after and between the novels. And if the "microgrammes" turn up in English, that would be another thing to jump for! Of course the king has the complete German edition of those... the "Robber" is part of these, too, but has been published before they deciphered the rest. Absolutely fascinating writings! Death of a poet... this was how Walser was found, Christmas day 1956, in the hills around Herisau, Switzerland, where he spent the last 25 years of his live in an asylum, having stopped writing (consquently).

I could hardly believe reading anyone bothers to translate Walser to English... great! However I assume the translations are of his three novels? Or rather four, since the "Robber" has been taken care of, already? Me biggest Walser fan (almost) on planet earth (and elsewhere).

Can anyone tell me about these two Duttons: CDLK 4284 Don Rendell Playtime & singles compilation CDLK 4281 Shake Keane with The Keating Sound & Dig It! The Rendell is listed among the 11 other discussed reissues on the scan attached to an above post, but listed separatley on the Dutton site. The Keane is not commented anywhere.

Glad to report that Amazon came through on this order, finally... the ML Williams is cool (and obviously available again - it was not available from any Amazon when I wanted to buy it a year or two ago). Now sidewinder can be relieved taht I also got the Forum West disc, even though my credit card ordered it without my knowledge... maybe I should look at it as the property of my credit card, and look at the Williams as a token of gratitude from my credit card? Wierd things happen, I tell you! Haven't given the Forum West a spin, but read the introductory part of the liners... pity they weren't able to hire a professional translator, otherwise it all looks very nice. And after having read part of the liners, I wonder how anyone could believe at all that these recordings have anything to do with any radio sessions... they come from Mr. Wewerka's (what's his name again? Or is that the name?) private vault of recordings. PS: What/who is "dutton" again?

Same here! I even had the one single disc I bought, "On the Sunny Side", on my sale-pile (but put it back in the shelf again)... never came around picking this one up, but I know I will do so, latest once it runs low!

Just listened to 50 minutes of the Dietikon October 22, 1971 set of Miles' (partially on dime now in that "unknown" seed, it seems) - look out for a future seed of a longer version of the shorter of the two sets soon... (I most probably have the two concerts mixed up, my shorter set runs 80 minutes, the longer 92 minutes - obviously more than Losin lists, but so far I haven't been able to match my sets with Losin's - the second/longer set, though, should be matching...) This stuff is great, I really like it! I downloaded tons of seventies Miles, but as far as listening goes I still got it ahead of me, mostly. I only heard a set here and a set there, but still have to continue thorough listening where I left off (L5 Tree). Looking forward to it a lot, and I have amassed quite a few 71 shows by now, thanks to those mega-seeds on Dime!
