  1. RVGs? What's that again? Blue Note? Are they still active? Aaaaah, I see now! That's the guys fooling their yurpean customers by selling them some kind of silvery round cactus! As for this batch, the only one I don't have as McMaster or part of a box set (or Conn, in the JOS case) is Turrentine's "Joyride" - how's that one?
  2. Confirmed here: http://www.trombone-usa.com/tromb_e.htm Is he the same guy that also played some tenor sax? The site linked above suggests no, but anyone here knows?
  3. The merging of posts thing is freaking me out. Me too, as I already said! Any chance you can change that, Jim?
  4. Thanks for sharing this, Chris! Fascinating! And yes Barak, be here more often if you can! Oh, and so the late NHOP was old colonialist by heart?
  5. looks like you managed, but somehow you eradicated the wrong part of your post
  6. Another possibility to read "Hat Hut" is entirely German and means "[he] has got [a] hat" (since "hat" in German can be read as "has"). Here's the link to our show, in case anyone whom I haven't emailed it yet wants to listen to it (it's in swiss german, as usual): http://195.210.0.134:554/ramgen/lora/archi...o%20LoRa%2097,5 The end of the show is clipped, alas - it misses th last seconds of the great Clusone 3 tune (from "Rara Avis") and me calling things off (my friend does the opening talk, I did the missing closing talk).
  7. Should really be going back to see 'Otto e Mezzo'. I did not remember Claudia looking so etheral in the film! She still looks very good these days. Well yes, etheral (ethereal?) is not what I would call her usually... and YES! you should run to see Otto e Mezzo again! I catch it whenever it's being shown in a theatre here! Have seen it at least 4 or 5 times in recent years! The final scene (with that *great* Nino Rota march) alone is worth seeing it again and again! And Anouk Aimée, too! And Saraghina... I'm partial... I love this film so much!
  8. damn man, reading that makes my head hurt. It looks like you need a bit more time to re-read what you wrote before you post anyhow, so the anti-7/4 posting mode should pose no problem for you. So quoting the same post several times still ends up in one post, also... Yes, that's very confusing (the board behaviour, not your post ) Thanks for understanding! I find that confusing, really! Otherwise, as I said, it's cool not to have those glitches anymore, AND Jim: I really like the new colours, too! With the purple stuff around and the orgo-logo on top, the site still looks a bit warmer than the other bluish boards. Now how fast can you post? Four in one? I did four in two before, but if Claude hadn't posted in between...
  9. damn man, reading that makes my head hurt. It looks like you need a bit more time to re-read what you wrote before you post anyhow, so the anti-7/4 posting mode should pose no problem for you. What are you talking about, man? damn man, reading that makes my head hurt. It looks like you need a bit more time to re-read what you wrote before you post anyhow, so the anti-7/4 posting mode should pose no problem for you. you know, I re-read *before* I hit the "post"-button, usually!
  10. Better late than never: happy birthday!
  11. That's called the anti-7/4 posting mode. but wouldn't it be really funny if your post gets added to whomever's post that was posted within the last minute or so?
  12. So if I post again in a thread I just posted my second (possibly unrelated, like: quoting another post from that thread than what I quoted in my first post) just gets attached to the previous post??? Sucks! How long would I have to wait to prevent that from happening? One minute?
  13. wh...????? words fail! brownie does not instantly recognize la Cardinale? World gone wrong??? "8 1/2" is one of ubu's most loved films, so it's pretty easy for me to agree with Lon, to get back on topic! sure you must've liked *that*?
  14. Same here now... or nobody wants to talk with me? (May that be because I'm only talking to myself anyway?)
  15. Want one of those again? I was thinking of using Vince W., my great hero - that pic I posted elsewhere today! What a great drummer! Ask couw: a drummer fired by slime cannot be *that* bad, can he?
  16. One glitch was that the title on top of the open thread/topic would always move left and right (similar to what happens if you use AMG with Opera, but of course only moving horizontally, while with AMG there are those dropdowns, too). Another was that one could not just mark a word and hit the "bold"-button - those bold-indicators (and all other indicators) would just be put to the end of the post, no matter where you had the cursor when you hit any (same for smilies). This seems all be gone now, so that's cool! (I got used the them glitches, of course... maybe I'll miss them )
  17. He was great on that first Marty-Paich-arranged Tormé Bethlehem album, the one with the cars on the cover and that hilarious Lulu tune opening the proceedings!
  18. Very sad news
  19. I'm sure couw and a few others noticed as well: with this new version some glitches that were happening in Opera are not there anymore - cool! We can now also insert bold text and smilies and whatever as easy as in MSIE!
  20. Claude, I have to confess that with your current avatar I have trouble reading what you're posting...
  21. Taylor did other short stuff... for instance on his MPS/Pausa album "Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!" from 1980. Also tday he doesn't always play long pieces... or he follows one long piece by several short ones that you may or may not consider "encores" (see the fabulous "Willisau Concert" released on Intakt Records).
  22. Plainly an attempt to get into Jazzbo's "loveliest avatar" thread! Liking the new look. I might just put some posts up just to try stuff out Security reasons? What, you mean we're being hacked? Well, I've figured this new stuff out just fine... don't you like this guy? see, so it goes?
  23. Oh, back in the old times there were some who cared about forward:
