  1. There *might* be a cheapo Euro version around by now (with the beige border around the cover). Those have the remasters (i.e. unedited versions, alternates and all) BUT a basic booklet without any liner notes, just production credits and tracklists etc.
  2. I didn't talk of that Mosaic but of the Verve CD which is still readily available... but in the end I won't be bothered too much by some duplications and will be happy to get an official release of the Interpretations albums! I know you weren't talking about the Mosaic, I just thought I'd mention it to provide as much info as I could, that's all. Sure, fine. To me, that "Plays" material never quite reaches the same heights as the Haig quartets and Raney sessions for Roost do.
  3. Would this include the CBC live releases? I've only heard "Tenderly" from the library a few years back, before I really got into OP. At that price it shouldn't be a shabby cheapo label...

  5. agree about "Zep Tepi" - wonderful disc!
  6. And it might Duplicate the material from "Stan Getz Plays", I assume? That's a Raney quintet date there (the CD bonus session with Jimmy Rowles is a quartet if memory serves me right). I've never heard the Interpretations material so far! The first of the West Coast albums/sessions was w/quintet, wasn't it? "Jazz West Coast", listed above by J.A.W. - so this might be duplicated, after all... but would it all fit onto just three discs? Or will they skip that as it's out as part of another fine set anyway? I'd hope they'll skip, but I'll want this new one anyway! Won't beat the Roost 3CD set, I guess, but I'm always in for a surprise of course!
  7. I'm with Chuck here... stood away from the Brookmeyer 2CD set for years, hoping someday the "real" thing would be available! Would be great to have a good reissue of these "Interpretations" albums, finally!
  8. It was a one-off in a local store... they just had some boxes they were selling for good prices, including that one! I put these boxes on the top of my book shelves... Mosaics, Fantasy longboxes etc... height isn't an issue up there.
  9. I like their packaging. Got the Oscar Peterson and Ella sets for a good price but haven't actually played them so far, just had a look and spun a few tracks. But I do agree on the price... stuff like their Motown and James Brown singles look great though. If I could afford that, I'd be all over them! And this Dinah W. set looks great! I've got the "Swingin' Miss D" VEE CD reissue and grew to like it quite a bit (it combines several Mercury sessions - probably partial sessions - with the one Keynote session).
  10. I'll take "The General" please... but no model trains for me... would have to cut down my CD expenses, I'm afraid... and no interest whatsoever, not even as a child.
  11. I spot one on my shelves on a daily basis
  12. Rolf, my sincerest condolences. Very sorry to hear this. I wish you and yours much strength in these sad times.
  13. Would love to be there! Will you attend, brownie?

  15. Wow, great! Thanks a lot! Will search at home later on if I can find any guitar player with a similar name...
  16. My website is rising from sickness and disease again end of next week. With your permission, I'll include this. I've redone my page a bit but it won't be reachable until the countdown ends. Sure, but honestly I can't quite guarantee it's accurate... I'd be happy to double check it once more before you put anything up!
  17. Nero Noir Désir Stendahl
  18. I'd love to hear that Chicago performance w/Dizzy and Machito, but my inquiries so far haven't led to any results... (Richard Davis was indeed there, at least for the solo/duos/quartet set w/Randy, Griffin and Blakey). Will definitely look for the new Weston disc - haven't heard anything bad from him so far! (Haven't heard Destry yet... guess that one's the most likely candidate)
  19. What? British schools taught that Reagan's was the evil empire?
  20. Bibi Andersson Harriet Andersson Liv Ullmann
  21. Bibi Blocksberg Vicke Viking Pipi Långstrump (Mosley is quite big here, isn't he? )
  22. Playing discs 5-7 of the Amos Milburn now - love it! Sure, I will most likely take it in small doses in the future (and I'll want to listen while reading up the sessions one day, too... just read the introductory essay so far).
  23. Thanks a lot for checking! Much appreciated! The show DID happen, at least that I do know... (aural evidence )
  24. William Carlos Williams William Paterson (whomever the hell that is, but wiki has several on offer) Don Patterson
