Washed my first USB stick once (back in the days when a 256MB one cost as much as a 6 or 7 disc Mosaic box - remember the days?) - kept working though. -
Liebman/Beirach bites the dust

wast lords? good one, for sure! -
So including it in a studio albums box is quite correct ... I still wish they'd fill up the discs with more bonus material (subjunctively put since I don't think there's much of a chance). The box won't be needed here, though official versions of "Indigos" and "A Drum" would be nice, and I'm sure "Bal Masque" can be done better than Collectables did it ... if the Schaap goof on "Such Sweet Thunder" would also be fixed ... I guess I might be in then, but still, I've got each of these albums, some even twice (and I think a used music store had the old French edition of "Such Sweet Thunder" there for ages, I might try my luck).

That's because Mr. Wilburn will redo the drum-parts, I've heard.

Gee, I guess I should start reading user comments for Kenny G albums more often! Mrs. D. from K.C. writes: "Hmm... I love Kenny G's music. He has a grove you can fall into like a fur throw on a cold summer night, while sitting in front of a warm fire with the one you love. But, I'm not feeling him, here. I'm trying to see the point of this? I can't connect to it... I feel disconnected on so many levels. He's excluded many of his loyal masses here, which is odd, because Kenny G's music has always been so universal... I don't like." Rachel (surely not ours - long time no see, btw!) says: "I don't agree with the person below; they certainly aren't a jazz fan or have no interest in Kenny G's music pieces to begin with. I think this CD is awesome! It's a must buy." Furthermore, Kenny G. reveals some douchebag husbands and drugs children, as MissAngi's testimony proves: "My husband and I are on two ends of the spectrum when it comes to Kenny G. I personally think he's fantastic! I can't get enough of his relaxing smooth music! But my husband...he's not a fan to say the least. But this album is the happy middle!! Many of the songs my husband loves so he can enjoy right along with me! I put this album on my iPod and played it in the car yesterday.... all 4 of my children were completely silent and relaxed the entire 45 minute trip!! Is it a miracle in MP3 form!? I think so!!! Any mother knows quiet kids in the car is nothing short of amazing!! Thank you Kenny for bring my family together! hahahaha All kidding aside this is a fantastic album! Each song is better than the next. Very soothing and romantic. Great to play during dinner, while enjoying a bubble bath, or even a romantic evening. I rated it a strong 5 stars!"

Fantastic! Thanks everyone for the stories and remembrances. Played "Good Forever" again (and again) last night - love it!

bit cheaper on amazon.it

Coming up, seems to be official: Would that be the same material as in the Mosaic box? Not that I really care, I've got my Frémeaux Django, so there's that, but still I'm somewhat curious as I just stumbled over this on amazon.fr

Chris Sheridan (liners to "Young and Foolish") also has 1922 as year of birth. Not that I knew, not that it really matters ...
-
Foolish to be too sad ... he lasted for more than a lifetime and gave us music for at least nine lives! But still, this is a hard one to take. Thank you for all the great music!

Movie Gurus: James Bond of the past twenty years

At least we won't get in a terrible row then, Lon! (just only realized her mother was in Godard's great "Masculin - féminin"!) And I'm much on the "Casino Royale" side, as opposed to "Quantum of solace" - much better story, better paced, less flashy effects, and just generally more meat to the bone, it seemed to me. -
Send me a check over a couple thousand £ so I can attend various concerts, m'kay? And send a few months of time and some good orchestras and conductors along! Seriously: I wouldn't consider buying the box at all if I wasn't at least somewhat interested. But seeing the symphonies performed live - I don't think so. Classical concerts over here cost an arm and a leg, and I don't think Shostakovich often makes the programmes, either.

So, will this save the Euro?

Very cool indeed! Disc VI: Mingus At Monterey, September 18, 1965 1. The Arts Of Tatum And Freddie Webster (E) 9:33 (Charles Mingus) 2. Don’t Let It Happen Here (E) 9:11 (Charles Mingus) 3. They Trespass The Land Of The Sacred Sioux (E) 8:39 (Charles Mingus) 4. When The Saints Go Marching In (E) 4:30 (K.E. Purvis-J.M. Black) guess I'll put a pre-order in, too!
-
Great news indeed! The Monterey set I got mostly because of that Mingus track (there's some other interesting music spread on the three discs). I wonder if they found more, unreleased material from that concert? Guess not or Cuscuna would have stated so.

Sorabji - Ogdon is unavailable, it seems ...

Thanks Moms and D.D. - will see, I might eventually get some cheap symphonies box (Barshai/WDR) and maybe the string quartets (Borodins or Fitzwilliams there? I tend to the former, but it seems their disc with the final two is kind of hard to find). Just to get myself a better picture ... but I'm in no rush!

where did you find this info? i've been digging around for it and I can't find it anywhere. not that I doubt you personally or anything I just wanted to know where I can find some info about release dates and when I can expect to get these in the US. really excited about the Douglas and Abrams sets. I received an email from CAM Jazz on 7/31. The release date according to the email is Oct. 9th. Yep, straight from the source! Took the JPGs from that email (and uploaded them myself again, so the links should last a while - and yes, they came in those different sizes).

I'd horsewhip Schaap if I had a horse. But a horsewhip is much cheaper than a horse! Didn't know about that screw up - damn!

Yeah, so then "oggi" was a misleading transcription for Italian-savvy folks ... but since the guy wants to boogie, who cares (uh, I just see it was "oggy", so that's that!)
-
is that "cuu-oggi" as in "aggie" or as in italian "oggi"?
