A half dozen or more great Trombonists listed - But number one for me will always be Bill Harris. Always something virle and immediate in his playing. Loved Kai and JJ too. And Vern Friely had something unique - as did Urbie Green.
SEE - you can't just pick one as Numero Uno.
I don't think MJQ would have wanted Wes as a regular member. A guest shot perhaps, but to add Wes would have broken up the intricate tone and pattern so inherent to the MJQ. It would not had worked on a sustained basis.
I've Had no problem with Mosaics layout.
It is OK with me if they wish to revamp. I will adjust in minutes.
BUT I am always irked by their Audio Clips being limited to one thing, the old outmoded Windows Media. Hey guys get "Real"
In addition There is the Johnny Richards set which is due early (?) next year cosisting of Capitol and Roulette recordings including the wild "The Rites Of Diablo"
