  2. I tried one for lunch to day and was decidedly underwhelmed. It didn't help that I asked for med-rare the waiter said they could only do med and the thing showed up brown the whole way through.
  3. although the one I use was my grandma's from the 60's, not sure if the new ones are the same design.
  4. Congratulations and may you share many happy years together.
  5. In Coeur d'Alene ID is Hudson's Hamburgers. They offer Hamburgers Cheeseburgers and some Hamburger with egg thing, iirc. Pickles and onions are the additional items i believe. At the counter (no tables) they have ketchup and some wicked good hot mustard. They have a soda fountain with Green River on tap, but no fries. The grill-master has a bag of significantly non-lean burger in a stainless tub. When you place your order he grabs a handful of beef, forms the patty and tosses it on the grill. Is it the best burger I have ever eaten, probably not, but it is one of my favorite place to stop when I'm over that way. Best hamburger I ever had was with blue-cheese and served on a toasted english muffin. Mmmm
  6. I don't have a lot of his recordings but love the ones I do. I was spinning Tenor Gladness with Warne Marsh quite a bit last week. ...and now it is spinning again.
  7. Hell, I didn't know it was that bad for the $$$. We could have had a big ass Reptet BBQ and passed the hat and you probably would have come out better than that. Oh well. Once again, it was a great time and I hope you guys/gals make it back this way soon. Bill
  8. My apologies, I meant "guys" in it's most inclusive understanding. The edition of Reptet that hit Spokane had: John on drums Sam (that would be Miss Sam for those keeping score) on trumpet, slide-trumpet, some even littler-er slide looking thing Ben on bass Ben (off to join the circus) on trombone Chris on baritone and tenor sax Izaak on tenor sax, bass clarinet and general chaos.
  9. Reptet killed at The Zombie Room (formerly The Spread, formerly The B-side) while also doing significant damage to a tambourine and a few alt.country.rock brain cells. Great energy, amazing musicianship and all around incredible show for the masses that assemble to witness the thunderous magnificence that is Reptet. Enjoyed meeting and talking with the whole crew. If anyone has the chance to see this band and doesn't, you can not say you have lived a full life. John, Hope you guys had a good show up in Sandpoint. Bill
  10. My lp copy of this has one of those nearly generic Jazztone covers, although as bad as those covers were I love that Jazztone logo.
  11. Bill Crow The Ravens The Blackbyrds
  12. Batman Birdman, of Alcatraz Fly-Man, A.K.A. The Fly
  13. Happy Birthday Jazz in Search of Itself, was one of the best books I've read in a long time.
