Another neglected outing from Art Farmer with his at subject time regular pianist Fritz Pauer recorded live during his stay @Domicile Club Munich in 1970.

Aside the (at least to me) a little bit irritating Conga+Percussion players on some of the tracks and the rather short playing time, this is an excellent Art Farmer recording of that period.

  9. I do believe that subject compilation was not intended to rival Redding's classic albums, but just to broaden the view on his legacy...........otherwise - and don`t get me wrong as I grew up with/love Otis Redding - nowadays I don´t listen too much to his records as his voice although great is rather one-dimensional to me, compared for instance to or
  10. Just wondering, whether the Rhino set incorporates all tracks from subject lovely ACE compilation released in 1992...... No. a pity, as me believe this being a must have for any dedicated otis follower....... I agree, up to a point - the best on it, say "Cupid", is marvelous, but some of it really is bottom of the barrell (but what a deep barrell it was) Ì can see where you are comin`from...........still it`s a privilege to witness such quality "rejectiones".......what a great series of STAX + related Labels Reissues ACE managed to deliver at that time.......Ruby Johnson, William Bell, the "1000+ Volt of Stax" compilations and the deep Gospel of Chalice......hard to believe these Reissues were released more than 20+ years ago......

  23. After doing some research Cool Music seems to be a German Company (formerly distributed by ZYX) - omitting the four Fontana`s there are no other jazz titles in their "catalogue"........so at least seemingly these are not japanese Reissues....... Do own some of the Original Fontana LP`s and all of the Japanese Reissues LP`s , but would not mind to have this as quality CD Reissues....
  24. seem to be still available via jazzmessenger.com , f.i ted curson "urge" http://www.jazzmessengers.com/en/64295/ted-curson/urge having said that, the label is called "cool music" - pretty unheard to me as japanese reissue label until now...........
  25. Is there a list of the recently reissued titles - myself being probably too dumb finding these on subject Red Records Site..........
