http://www.sonorama.de/index.php?section=VARIOUS-ARTISTS-METRO`S-MIDNIGHT-MUSIC There are some Tracks with Mark Murphy and the Van Dijk Trio, which saw release prior to that as http://www.allmusic.com/album/north-sea-jazz-sessions-vol-5-mw0000911308 The Sonorama "Metro`s Midnight Music" release features only a number of the Mark Murphy tracks, but of course in beautifully remastered format and is a labour of love overall......

They ALL do ;-)..........really hope your order makes it in due course though....also alternate sources (i.e smaller dealers) in Japan/Taiwan are processing rather slowly. In case using sources like HMV.jp or CDJapan you have to pay a hefty postage uptick to have it with within a couple of days.(still it takes additional 2-3 working days before they send it....)

in case this is the seller - http://www.ebay.com/usr/ftfym65 - that`s the one I just linked to Greg M. I´ve ordered a couple CD`s from him via Ebay recently (the only communication was the update via Ebay about the CD`s shipment) and the goods made it within 2-21/2 weeks to Europe......securely packed parcel`s and factory sealed cd`s.

@etherbored : it`s always fine with me receiving infos from a fan ;-)........yes the two burton`s give me quite a good idea , furthemore i know his work via so the two trio cd`s should be with me rather soon But what about this one : When was this recorded/released and is this still with Schools/Engels as rhythm tandem ?
-
Being one of these "hip to Ann Burton" folks - are these Louis van Dijk trio recordings from the late 60s ? Any further comments from your side would come appreciated.....
-
Ah, perhaps that's the answer then. .... a "freebie". That might also answer my query as to how good it is! some more infos on subject record here : http://ronnierossmusic.blogspot.co.at/2009/07/tommy-watt-watts-cooking.html

Unfortunately can`t help with the info - nevertheless worth mentioning, after ordering a batch of Bethlehem CD`s from Japan I received as "Bonus" a sort of Beermat (!!) graced with the Cover of "Watt`s Cooking" Does it play at 45 or 33 1/3 rpm? depends on the number of beers sipped, I suppose PS While still not answering your question, the catalogue sent via forementioned order (unfortunately only in japanese) has this item not as part of the CDSOL 6001-6150 numbering systen, but it`s release number is CDSOL-6000S5 (it`s marketed on the back side of the catalogue together with The Australian Jazz Quintet "Three Penny Opera" CDSOL 60000S6) - are these possibly "bonus" CD`s for japanese customers ?? PS2 Can`t find both CD`s neither on HMV.jp nor on CDJapan`s website.......

Billy Harper on Denon from the late 70`s, for instance
-
Denny Zeitlin "Live at the The Trident" - COMPLETE recordings from that gig (there seems to be a lot of material available, as mentioned in the Mosaic Select Denny Zeitlin Studio Recordings Liner Notes)
-
Another neglected outing from Art Farmer with his at subject time regular pianist Fritz Pauer recorded live during his stay @Domicile Club Munich in 1970.
-
Aside the (at least to me) a little bit irritating Conga+Percussion players on some of the tracks and the rather short playing time, this is an excellent Art Farmer recording of that period.
-
his final recording date, me believe......
-
Agreed - whenever Billy Harper contributed good things happened - was there ever an thread about him ? Too tired for searchin`........

Best sounding version of Otis Redding's "Otis Blue"
soulpope replied to Head Man's topic in Discography
I do believe that subject compilation was not intended to rival Redding's classic albums, but just to broaden the view on his legacy...........otherwise - and don`t get me wrong as I grew up with/love Otis Redding - nowadays I don´t listen too much to his records as his voice although great is rather one-dimensional to me, compared for instance to or -

Just wondering, whether the Rhino set incorporates all tracks from subject lovely ACE compilation released in 1992...... No. a pity, as me believe this being a must have for any dedicated otis follower....... I agree, up to a point - the best on it, say "Cupid", is marvelous, but some of it really is bottom of the barrell (but what a deep barrell it was) Ì can see where you are comin`from...........still it`s a privilege to witness such quality "rejectiones".......what a great series of STAX + related Labels Reissues ACE managed to deliver at that time.......Ruby Johnson, William Bell, the "1000+ Volt of Stax" compilations and the deep Gospel of Chalice......hard to believe these Reissues were released more than 20+ years ago...... -
