Thnx pal for posting the Marshmellow cover earlier.....it`s an as good as it gets Bud Powell pic and I simply HAD to use it Me being definitely interested on your view regarding Foster`s "Loud Minority" though......
-
Harold Land`s "Damisi" comes to my mind.......and of course "Another Shade of Blue".....
-
I definitely agree with you there. A matrvellous LP and that rhythm section A pity that rhythm section never recorded on their own at subject time for ECM .......
-
yes, and a good fit in this context could be
-
Nice - and right, sometimes you would wonder how Dexter Gordon could walk on/off stage at all ......

Send them an e-mail and suggest it.... @Head Man : common thoughts ;-)...actually I`ve posted this here while hoping other interested Forum Members would also write to ACE http://acerecords.co.uk/pages/contact and inquire reg. subject reissue establishing sort of broader demand. Of course I already did so and also suggested this in another german language Jazz Forum today in the morning....based on some experiences in the Soul area I do know that ACE (also) takes in account collector`s perspective

Hal Galper "Inner Journey" (Mainstream) 1973 - would love to see this being reissued (by ACE)........
-
studied the background info - sounds interesting......
-
A close friend ordered these too and showed them to me - can confirm your impressiones /description - of course visible gap to japanese reissue quality, nevertheless much better than most CD-R "offers".......so for the time being, despite potential legal issues, this is a feasible way to get this material.......

Ah, perhaps that's the answer then. .... a "freebie". That might also answer my query as to how good it is! @ Head Man : received with a little help from a japanese speaking friend following "enlightenment" : The 35 CD`s of the March 2014 releases http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/search/music/adv_1/barcodecatnum_CDSOL-61/category_1/x_0/y_0/ do carry a coupon (inside the booklet, me believe). With five coupons your are entilted to ask for a freebie, which is either Tommy Watt with Tubby Hayes "Watt`s Cooking" CDSOL-6000S5 or The Australian Jazz Quintet "Three Penny Opera" CDSOL 60000S6 The catalogue specifically states, that this two releases and based on the numbering system the previous four items CDSOL 6000S1 ??? CDSOL 6000S2 ??? CDSOL 6000S3 ??? CDSOL 6000S4 Mel Torme "California Suite" will NOT see official release How to proceed if being in possession of a sufficient number of coupons but not living in Japan is still questionable to me (there is an adress, FAX and Phonenumber...) All in all the typical way how the Japanese Reissue Companies care for their domestic clients - which is fine for the latermentioned, but sometimes frustrating to us "mere mortals"......hope this was of help though.... I rest my case.

in case this is the seller - http://www.ebay.com/usr/ftfym65 - that`s the one I just linked to Greg M. I´ve ordered a couple CD`s from him via Ebay recently (the only communication was the update via Ebay about the CD`s shipment) and the goods made it within 2-21/2 weeks to Europe......securely packed parcel`s and factory sealed cd`s. It IS this seller ... (see above) But now you got me really worried. I have checked my mails again but since receiving an automatic Auctiva purchase confirmation and my payment confirmation from Paypal (I paid immediately after making my purchase) I have not received ANY shipping information from whomever ... And 3 weeks since my payment have passed. to calm you down.......regarding my last two items (ordered the same day individually) i received a ebay notification reg one item, wondered about the second item (didn`t hear a word....) and received two days ago BOTH items in ONE parcel.... again there are alternatives reg other sellers, but this guy has all Sam Most (within reach) Greg M. was interested in.....

http://www.sonorama.de/index.php?section=VARIOUS-ARTISTS-METRO`S-MIDNIGHT-MUSIC There are some Tracks with Mark Murphy and the Van Dijk Trio, which saw release prior to that as http://www.allmusic.com/album/north-sea-jazz-sessions-vol-5-mw0000911308 The Sonorama "Metro`s Midnight Music" release features only a number of the Mark Murphy tracks, but of course in beautifully remastered format and is a labour of love overall......

They ALL do ;-)..........really hope your order makes it in due course though....also alternate sources (i.e smaller dealers) in Japan/Taiwan are processing rather slowly. In case using sources like HMV.jp or CDJapan you have to pay a hefty postage uptick to have it with within a couple of days.(still it takes additional 2-3 working days before they send it....)

@etherbored : it`s always fine with me receiving infos from a fan ;-)........yes the two burton`s give me quite a good idea , furthemore i know his work via so the two trio cd`s should be with me rather soon But what about this one : When was this recorded/released and is this still with Schools/Engels as rhythm tandem ?
-
Being one of these "hip to Ann Burton" folks - are these Louis van Dijk trio recordings from the late 60s ? Any further comments from your side would come appreciated.....

Ah, perhaps that's the answer then. .... a "freebie". That might also answer my query as to how good it is! some more infos on subject record here : http://ronnierossmusic.blogspot.co.at/2009/07/tommy-watt-watts-cooking.html

Unfortunately can`t help with the info - nevertheless worth mentioning, after ordering a batch of Bethlehem CD`s from Japan I received as "Bonus" a sort of Beermat (!!) graced with the Cover of "Watt`s Cooking" Does it play at 45 or 33 1/3 rpm? depends on the number of beers sipped, I suppose PS While still not answering your question, the catalogue sent via forementioned order (unfortunately only in japanese) has this item not as part of the CDSOL 6001-6150 numbering systen, but it`s release number is CDSOL-6000S5 (it`s marketed on the back side of the catalogue together with The Australian Jazz Quintet "Three Penny Opera" CDSOL 60000S6) - are these possibly "bonus" CD`s for japanese customers ?? PS2 Can`t find both CD`s neither on HMV.jp nor on CDJapan`s website.......
